Pure Acetone in place of ISO?

I have made crappy ISO "hash" several times with 97 and 99 percent ISO alcohol but I was thinking, wouldn't pure unscented acetone be a much better solvent? I would think that the product yielded would be essentially the same as ISO hash if not more pure. Also pure acetone evaporates much faster than ISO and at a much lower temp and would eliminate "cooking" the alcohol off (a step In the process that I really dislike).

My knowledge of hash making is nowhere near that of growing or just general info about cannabis, so I was wondering if anyone with more knowledge on the subject could perhaps give me their perspective if not their own personal experience. Thanks for any help.

I think acetone may be to strong and dissolve morethan your thc into the solvent. not only that but I imagine acetone would stay in your hash longer....I mean...ever spilled acetone on a piece of wood? it sorta soaks it up, and I wonder what its evaporation points are. peace

Sounds like indeed. what you want to make is not hash but oil. Hashis made by sieving the buds and press the collected resin.
