Did you mean grunge here? 'Cause then the answer would be yes, I guess.

But the garage band sound is from all over the USA. Minneapolis might have a claim, I guess, with The Replacements and Hüsker Dü, or L.A. with Black Flag and X, (although they are punk and not garage, strictly speaking) but shit, there are bands like that from everywhere.

That's the beauty of punk.

But you probably meant grunge, so I'm just rambling. Time fer another bowl.

All others are from UK

sorry but nofx are commercial pop We played together in like 96 and that was punk, but 2001 when we played last time together the guys were total assholes, sorry i dont like to shit on people, but money make them pop stars ...
The first punk like band from USA were The Stoogies with Iggy
There is a lot pop punk bands in USA, they are not punk band they just smell money
but the best punk is from East Europe

there was shuge explosion of pop punk (how many from OC too many and all sounded alike) right when grunge was taking off too... and greenday

the old rancid album abut time is pretty raw though.... then they got all poppy too but kept the spikes

I came from exYugoslavia where punk movement was strong 20 years ago. Here Sex Pistols were holy bible
Two weeks ago Exploited played here, on friday Peter & the test tube babies, next month Jello Biafra, Down by Law .... so punk is still not dead here
