PumpAlarm - Pretty nifty to have for peace of mind if you aren't at your grow 24/7

I have a spot where I grow that is about 20 minutes away and no one lives there except my ladies. I found out a couple weeks ago that if the power goes out, even for a second, the AC shuts off and will not come back on. That is no bueno obviously. In order to have any peace of mind, I HAD to go check up daily, and that still wouldn't guarantee that the power wouldn't go out right after I left. If you've followed any of my thread, you'll know I'm lazy as fuck and I had a hard time dealing with driving 40 minutes every day just to check on power.

My buddy Weird helped me find the PumpAlarm. It was $200 shipped and service is $30 a year. The $30 is to pay for cellular service they have on the Verizon network so that you can actually receive the messages. With the price of gasoline and my extreme slothful nature, I figured it was a no brainer. In gasoline, it will pay for itself in a run or two. If power goes out, I get a text message. I also get a text when it comes back on. It also came with a float sensor for the sump and a water sensor for the floor. BONUS! I run blumats and most everyone knows they aren't perfect and can 'run away' on us.

Now I can have peace of mind that the power is on, AC is running, and the beds aren't flooding. Not to mention, I can sit on my ass all day now.

I hope this helps some of you!

I see you can get alarms to suit almost anything these days, sent vie texts , smart phones, can get bloody old hat trudging back and forth checking things at times, more money for phone bills though. got a sound monitor down to house but a visual monitor hooked up would be grouse, look at gauges and the girls behavior at anytime.

You could have the same notification with any alarm system. AC loss can be programmed to send trouble or alarm notification instant or delay.

Even some residential wireless ones have an extra input that would allow you to connect other devices...like high/low temp sensors that are put into commercial freezers/fridges.

But for a monthly monitoring fee of $30+...you could monitor a whole alarm system for your windows & doors...gate...outdoor perimeter sensors...etc

But if all you need is just that...its fast and easy and nobody has to know.

It's $30 per YEAR and there are optional sensors to let you know if it gets below 45f, etc..
