PTSD, Exercise and Weed

The best therapy I know for dealing with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Depression is to get outdoors and exercise. Walk the dogs, jogging, riding bikes are a big part of my life.
I don't listen to the little voice that gives me excuses why I shouldn't exercise. I just go and I'm always glad I did when I finish. I load up my vape and get moving outdoors. "Cold or Hot" I get out and ride my bike every day and 3 big rides a week. I walk my dogs and still jog and it helps sooo much. I'm over 65, but I don't let that stop me because it's the only treatment or therapy that works for my depression and PTSD. Take a few hits, and hit the road, one eye or not.
Does anyone else want to share how exercise has helped you?
Here are my rides. 😎

Any distraction that's not wrapping det cord around fuken squirrels necks I guess is a good thing

That's a good excuse to not exercise, just call it a distraction. You don't sound like you are a happy friend, and your words show your mental state. If you don't exercise and don't want to, then this thread may not be for you. Your little voice is talking! 😎

I call it blowing the soot out! There are only 2 times a person should exercise for better health. When you want to, and when you don't want to.! I'm heading out for a jog after vaping this "stinky&sticky" bud. It's still dark so I just jog down the middle of the street with my dog Forest. We wear reflector vests and I have a headlamp on my head. It only takes a few minutes and so easy after a while. A jog makes my weed stronger. . 😎

hey creeperpark im about half your age man but ive got high blood pressure high risk for type 2 diabetes amongst other shit, but thanks for this post, its inspirational. Health is one of those things taken for granted until you dont have it anymore. 😎

Your welcome Bob, So sorry to hear about your health, hey you would do good on my easy-to-ride step-through girls bike. I use it to go around the block every day and it's so much fun to ride and so easy. You can get a nice bike for around a $150.00 at Walmart and take it slow. You would shock the world if you got yourself a bike. I know that taking long walks would be a hazard for your feet from Diabetes. Maybe you could take little walks with mindfulness of your feet very slowly to prevent abscesses. I have never met a depressed person that exercised regularly. Winners never Quit Friend!😎

The main problem with smoking or vaping weed is it wears off. Not only does it wear off, but it seems to lose its potency value, quickly over time. The more you smoke the more it doesn't do what it used to do, or just doesn't do the trick anymore over time. Most people like myself, just keep changing weed from one strain to another to trick the self into being happy again. The problem is cannabinol over-load from excess storage of the cannabinoids in the body's fat cells. There's a simple reason this happens and knowing why can help one's weed be more effective.

Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the main active ingredient in marijuana, is extremely fat-soluble, which means it is stored in the body's fatty tissues. Cannabinoids (CBD, THC, etc.) are hydrophobic (water-hating) oily substances and, as such, not water-soluble. Since it is not water-soluble you can't just pee it out of your system. The more you smoke the more the fats cells store THC, CBD, etc, and stop working. A lot of people move to concentrates to deal with THC overload. There are a few bad side effects of oils and concentrates like oily skin, bad completion, and sleepless nights without it. Besides stopping completely the only other way to keep them minimal, and prevent cannabinoid over-load is to burn them off by burning the fat cells off with exercise. The more calories I burn, the better I keep my cannabinoid resistance down low, and the more stone I get. 😎

Taking just 20 minutes a day can change everything you think about exercise. If a person is suffering from PDST it can be hard to get up and get moving. Acton before motivation is the objective. Don't wait to get motivated, get moving with the action, when you don't want to. The differences can be seen between a person who exercises a little and one that doesn't. Before my Dad passed away, I got him to promise me he would walk around the block every day instead of sitting in a chair all day. Later, he thanked me from the bottom of his heart because he said it changed everything in his life. He walked every day until he died. Everybody could see a big change in him, from his daily walks the last years of his life.
If anyone has PTSD and doesn't put in a little exercise in their life, they are not doing all they can for themselves. 😎

Creeperpark im high and I had a thought that reminded me of this thread. THC is stored in fat cells right? What happens to that THC when the body/muscle consumes that fat? Would it be as if we are consuming that thc twice and would there be a buzz when the body breaks it down out of fat?????? 😎😎😎

What's yoa thoughts

Hell yes Bro., that's what it's all about, getting the most out of the weed and the payoff is better health in exchange. Smokers have a much better life when they exercise between smokes. I know what I'm talking about because I smoked for over 30 years. I smoked weed and cigarettes heavily and would be today if it weren't for doing time in prison. When I smoked I still exercised just by the work I did at that time. Smoking is not a good excuse for not exercising. If you smoke you still need to exercise and when you do, you will be glad. . 😎

If a person just smokes without any activity they will fall into a mental state of sloth and torpor. "That's Everyone"!! That's a state of mind that will lock one to the couch and make things much harder in life. Most problems start with this mind state. Sloth and torpor disguises its self by acting like tiredness, needing rest, or just too fucked up to do anything. The couch is the ENEMY and will hurt one's self if one doesn't wake up out of this cruel long-term mind state. Weed has been getting a bad name lately because of this mind state. It would be nice if one cared as much for them-selfs as they cared for their plants. Something to ask is, "do I do as much for myself" as I do for my plants? 😎

(Torpor), which is defined as a morbid state that is characterized by unwieldiness, lack of energy, and opposition to a wholesome activity.
Sloth-and-torpor- half-hearted action with little or no effort or concentration. Google

The quality of sloth and torpor in our minds is a sinking into a state of dullness, of sleepiness, of heaviness, where there’s no clarity, no energy. There’s no light in the mind; everything is murky, confused. You feel disconnected. Internet

Take a walk after the next toke and make a post.. 😎

I take my exercise serous and I take my fucking off seriously too.
Here is my resting spot I use almost every day. I'm setting on 2 Hugelkultur mounds underground that are about 7 years old. Everything has started growing now and it won't be too long before you won't see anything but vegetation. The new growth is taking CO2 and converting it into fresh oxygen. It's like living on pure oxygen when I lay in my hammock. 😎

If you have gotten hurt real bad and have a physical handicap it can be very hard at times. People care about you, but they really don't know what it's like being handicapped. Little things like getting lunch or going to a doctor's visit. can be so difficult. There can be a sense of hopelessness when just doing little tasks like trying to see objects in low lit areas. Going into the world, everything moves so fast and it can be overwhelming at times. I live in a handicapped world because of my physical handicap. I have to work harder than non-handicapped. Acceptance is the key.

However, I'm telling you that exercising is the coolest thing in the world for depression and PTSD. When I take a bike ride or a walk, I feel free and love it so much. When things seem really tough and I'm sad, I just want to set in a chair on my ass, but if I make myself get up and go for a walk or bike ride I'm always glad I did. Go slow at first, and give it a try. 😎

Here's a photo of my Kuti 7 days later. This is a Safe Place or a therapeutic spot for processing, resting, and calming down. I spend time here every day listening to nature and just doing time. I just lost my little brother to throat cancer. I was there with him the whole time, oh my God, the horror and pain he when through was terrible. There's not a single day I don't think about what happened to him. If you smoke you may want to look into having cancer in the mouth and throat experience, and consider vaping or eatables instead. He only smoked weed.

I've lived with PTSD and being handicapped for over 30 years and survival is the only option. I've learned not to fight the wind anymore and accept what happened to me "as the way it is". Everything is the way it is in the present moment regardless of whether it is good or bad. Making peace with the present moment takes a lot of practice. I practice every day accepting what I can not change and making peace with the present moment. 😎
