As the ps3 launch date gets closer and closer i'm curious to see what everyone plans on purchasing as far as game titles.. I know a few I'm looking forward to would have to be Resident Evil 5, Metal Gear Solild 4, Devil May cry 4, Assassin's Creed, GT HD (Even though I heard it's only 4 tracks,10 cars) and a few others in the mix..(These are not necessarily all launch date titles but ones that have my best interest...

Peace

Yeah I bought 360 on launch date, had it reserved, played it for 5 hours and it froze..brought it back bought another one and it did the same..The original xbox was great I never had a problem with it freezing but with my personal experience with the 360 I'm all go for the playstation 3..Blu-ray optical disc drive,60 gb,3.2 gigahertz..It is safe for 360 to admit defeat..I mean microsoft has games for their consoles that I wish were for playstation 3 but time will tell..

$600 is a little steep for me right now..just don't have that much money to throw down on a system.

Been thinking about a 360...I can play that online with my friend in Japan so that's one reason I want one..I love online gaming and I think the 360 delivers in that area.

When I get paid in a week I'm thinking I will get a 360 and an XBOX Live subscription.

I do think the PS3 will be awesome though..just a little pricey right now.

I think I'd rather spend $50 on a shitty Bronco and rear end a Toys R Us Truck come November. Spilling out cases of the elusive PS3. Of course I'd probably just end up ramming the truck, and blowing myself up while mildly annoying the big rig driver.

None of them... I buy it and flip it just like I did with the xbox 360 last year... Rich people are so dumb they will do anything for their children... just look at mtv's sweet sixteen... Talk about kids who will never be down to earth...

yea xbox will crush the 360 couse the ps3 has more problems than the 360 first its slower and they have more problems with freezing becouse they get so hot they even had to reduce the core clock speed to help it and it did not work. period

xbox 360 rocks

Now, what's supposed to be so differant and so much better about the PS3 as opposed to the PS2?

All we have is a Gamecube and my old PS1. I don't really play the GC, and I don't even know if the PS1 still works. Actually, wait a minute, did I give that to my younger brother last year? Do I still HAVE the PS1? Fuck, I don't care, I haven't played it since it was new on the market anyway.....

Anyway, what makes the 3 better than the 2? My hubby wants a PS2, and he'll probably get it in the next few weeks. I could care less if he does or not, though.

The only games I play are out of the Myst series, so the only game machine I need is a good computer. Someday I'll build a good comp and get past M3 (Exile) in the series.

^^^Honestly I'd tell your husband to save up and get a Wii. It sounds like you guys would enjoy being able to play older games (Mario 3, Contra, Sonic, etc.) by downloading them from the WiiConnectionThingy. It costs a little for each game, but they're stored on your hard drive. Also it looks to have some pretty decent games coming out for it, it really has tried to reach out to the older gamers.

At $250 it shouldn't be much more than a PS2 (what are they, $125 now?), just my opinion of course.

Wii? Do they have 1st person shooters like Call of Duty? That's the only reason we're getting it in the first place, to play COD3.

We're not big into the older games, my hubby hates Zelda, I never cared for it, Mario's...eh......That's why I got into the long-term heavy-duty brain-ticklers Myst series.

Well Red Steel is shaping up to be a very interesting first person shooter with the Wii's controller. While not having played it, or actually done anything other than read one preview and look at some pictures, it looks intriguing.

Call of Duty 3 is going to be on the Wii. While it doesn't look as good as the 360 version, it still looks loads better than the PS2 (don't get me wrong I love the PS2, but it's age does show).

Other games like Madden are appearing, Super Monkey Ball (a great stoned game), as well as a new Super Smash Brothers (Nintendo staple since the N64). For the price it's a great deal.

Oh yeah, the SMB games are fuckin' awesome! Nothing like in the first one, where you're flying out to the islands like the balls are gliders, nothing like dropping the monkey on the ramp and watching it lay there and twitch! Lmfao :biglaugh:

Can't wait to play SMB3 :D

Actually it's Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz

"Like Rayman, this is really a fun pick-up-and-play experience. Banana Blitz follows the same formula of previous games. You've got a diverse, challenging single-player game complete with about 100 puzzle mazes that vary in difficulty. Some of them are incredibly difficult while others are fairly easy. Meanwhile, you've also got 50 mini-games – some of which are designed for multiple players. Remember Monkey Target from the old games? It's back, but now you use the Wii-mote to control everything. Indeed, that's Banana Blitz's main appeal: it has basically redesigned the old controls for Nintendo's new remote, and it has succeeded. Playing the game with the Wii-mote takes about 10 minutes to get used to and after that it's second nature. By the time you've spent 20 minutes with the title, you're whizzing through mazes and mastering mini-games. As an added bonus, Banana Blitz features overhauled visuals and a new cel-shaded style that I happen to think is a big improvement over previous games."

Red Steel is one I mentioned your husband may like. It looks like a fairly diverse FPS, by using the wii remote there is apparently even sword play.

And of course, Super Smash Brothers:Brawl

With a lot of new characters (Pit from Kid Icarus, Meta Knight, Solid Snake, Wario, and someone else) it should be pretty fun.
