it can be positive but that's usually when it's been stressed already. it's usually not a common practice with auto's because any stress will slow them down. usually the reason people opt for auto's is because of they are usually quicker to finish than a photoperiod plant, and any stress will delay that. i've seen people who've stressed them with deficiencies and root binding and such, only to have much larger plants and yields than expected, but that's not always the case. if it does get stressed before flower then you could probably do some pruning, but if all goes well in before sexing, don't prune em unless the leaves are shading buds.
