Pruning a rootbound plant?

I posted a thread a few days ago (Burnt Tips!), and I found today that the probable reason why my lower leaves are yellowing a bit and have some brown rust marks on them is rootbound (and the fact that I use Alaska fish 5-1-1). Should I prune the damaged leaves off, or should I just let it run it's course? I transplanted to a 6.5quart pot this morning, so hopefully things get back to normal. Also, is there any way to offset the fact that Alaska fish emulsion drops the ph low (or so I am told)?

Do you have to use the fish fertilizer? I've used fertilizer salts since the 70's and it works every time. Cut off the dead leaves, it will make you feel better and you'll know if more are dying. . .

I'd trim the affected leaves. Would also pull that plant out and rip off at least one third of the root ball (if its in veg). Get urself some tools and test ur ph :rasta:

Well I already transplanted it and loosened the rootball a bit, but did not rip it off. I plan on flowering soon (running out of space in the box), I just didn't want trimming the leaves off affect the flowering stage at all. I mixed a fresh batch of soil as well, and have been flushing it with just plain water (distilled). I am going to wait about a week longer to flower and then hit it hard with some nitrogen. Is it ok to flower soon after trimming leaves off?
