if someone trying to breakin into your house while your there can you leagally shoot at them? even if there not in the house yet but outside the window or still on your property?

If I were you I wouldn't shoot at them. Anyone that hears someone rack the slide of a 12 gauge and keeps coming is nuts and your in for a fight to the death. I have a friend that had someone sneaking through his yard in full camo fatigue. My friend was pointing a hand gun at him, the guy didn't show any respect and was trying to walk away. My friend was on the phone with the cops and they said it would take them an hour to get there. While still on the phone with 911 he fired his gun in the air and said shots fired get the F*** out here, the intruder froze and the cops got there in 5 minutes. My friend didn't get in any trouble. This was in cali.

I was reading the other day about a guy who took a couple shots at people trying to break into his truck in driveway. He's charged with attempted murder.. course he did hit one of the KIDS (14yo) in the leg.
If you're seriously considering shooting an intruder, i'd look up your state laws re: self defense. In many states you with a gun, intruder with nothing.. = you in trouble.
Of course, if you kill him... best get rid of him

Laws vary by location. In some areas, you can use deadly force to protect people or property, however in most areas, they must be 'inside' your home (not just attempting to enter) - AND you must be in fear for your life or the life of another person in the home.
If you are in a situation that 'requires' you to shoot - then you shoot to kill. If you do not need to shoot to kill, then you have no reason to shoot. In the event you must shoot someone - you need an attorney - and you need the attorney now. You may be facing both criminal charges and civil action as well. A jury can be very sympathetic for the 'poor young man who was left paralyzed for life by a trigger happy lunatic'.
If you have a grow of any type - your legal issues are obviously complicated. Now you have become a well armed drug dealer who was using "high powered weapons". And if you are using a semi-auto, then of course you are using an "assault weapon".
Deterence should be your first option. Be prepared for the consequences of your actions.

Guns are bad news fro growers IMO. Getting busted is one thing. Getting busted and having guns makes you a very bad person with no chance of pity in the eyes of johnny law.

moments later many cop cars showed up and said where are the bodies?...he told them...there not dead there still in my shed...the cop said i thought you said you killed them....the the old guy said...i thought you guys said there was no cars to come and help me.....
in my state in australia you can kill someone in your house using appropriate force(theyve got a gun...you can use one...they got a knife you can use one ect).....but if you have a grow or drugs ect....and you kill them your in the shit for murder ......thou i know or a guy that stabbed someone through his screen door....then moved the drugs and called the cops....i think his plan worked.HH. =]-~

My state= if you kill them inside your house or shoot them inside your residence then it is self defense. If you fire at them while they are still outside then it is attempted murder/assault with a deadly weapon. All states are slightly different. So just let him get through the window/door and cap him right there as soon as he sets foot on your actual dwelling(be sure this is ok in your state). And if they are fleeing please do NOT fire any bullets. It is reckless and you endanger many others which the cops tend to frown upon. Honestly though, just make sure your house is equipped very well with security stuff and get a big ass dog to chill in the yard if you can. Then you have an early warning system in place with teeth.

in some states mine included you have the right to shoot through the door if u feel your life is threatened. 2 college students killed in a college town and 1 police officer killed trying to kick down the wrong door no criminal charges were filed in any case of shooting and killing a tresspasser in my state.
its my land its my electric fence that u crossed or my locked gate u climbed i have every right here to protect my land my cows/horses my dogs and my property and last but not least my family.
plain and simple grow or not u step on my place i will not hesatate to shoot and u do not get the warning of a 12 ga pump racking all u will hear is BOOM lets let the 2nd barrel off now boys BOOM!
in short DO NOT LISTEN TO ME I AM IN A STATE THAT GIVES U A BOX OF BULLETS FREE WITH EVERY CASE OF BEER AND IT IS NORMAL TO RIDE YOUR HORSE IN TOWN AND BE DRESSED IN FULL COWBOY GEAR WITH 2-6 GUNS ON YOUR SIDE AND A 30/06 ON YOUR HORSE! we dont require a permit to carry a gun here and if theys over 21 bet your ass on them having a pocket pistol in there pocket.
that said crime hahaha what crime operating a horse or car under the influince of alchol or drugs maby 2-3 a week oh yeah and the violent ones are writing bad checks and whining to the cashier cause they refuse to take it .
do guns make every socity safe? NO. its not a cure all but in my area we all know billy bobs drunk and got 2x 357 magnums under his jacket and that little janey driving dads truck to school has that 12 ga in the back window thats loaded granny cant see but she gotts the lazer sited 45acp 1911 with the 13 round clip. think about it how meant criminals will walk in to anywere knowing that 90% of the folks in there are armed and half of those are nuts and that all will open fire

Back when I lived in Texas it was a similar situation confederate. People may not have ridden horses or had six shooters but burglary isn't a very long lasting career when 2 out of every 3 houses was armed.
Guns in the hands of good, well behaved citizens are a good thing, criminals arent going to be worried when they go to shoot someone that they have an illegal gun, so gun control is obviously counter productive.
Anyway, if you must shoot, shoot to kill, shooting with any other goal only serves to bring more danger upon you.

If your worried about rippers or poeple passing by well then your grow isn't in the right location in the first place. The tazer is more of an intelligent solution.

If you grow and have guns your ONLY chance of getting any leniency and i mean ONLY is if they are all properly registered and stored according to all rules and regulations.
If you think you need a gun to protect yourself from rippers then you need to reconsider your real grow security because waaaaay to many people already know.

I agree totally with that statement couldn't have been said better if i typed it myself!!!
I do not have guns soley to protect my grow period over end!
its mostly for wild life control and being a farmer i can kill fresh deer meat any time its in the corn crop or any other nucances that need to stay out of my crops or off my land 2 legged rabbits can do just as much damage if not more that the 4 legged furry ones. in short 2 legged 4 legged furry or freshly shaved don't matter, its my land right here in gods country
