proper ph for veg?

High guys,

I'm getting all kinds of conflicting answers to this question. Some say 5.8-6 amd some say 6.5-7

Can anyone tell me what the ideal Ph is for my vegging? Soiless mix is the medium I am using. Promix

Thanks

You are going to get all sorts of conflicting answers because everyone has a different pH range. I like around 6.5 in a peat based soilless mix. Since peat is acidic it will drift down a bit. If the pH of the mix is above 7 or below 5.5 the plant has trouble absorbing nutrients. My last run was a very picky Sativa that got nute lock from a pH above 8.0 in the mix. I usually let my water sit in plastic jars for a few days before using and the pH drifted up from 6.9 to 8.1 and I didn't know it. In organic gardening the microherd of little critters around the roots take care of pH if the water is within reason.

That is a good question. I use soilless mix also except I use fafard. The method I've been using is to alternate from one feed to the next. 5.8 to 6.3. In my opinion by applying a range you get different absorption rates of nutes
