my plant hasnt grown vertically in a week and starting to look nute locked. so i decided i better get my rear in gear...
well i got my ph stablized from 8 down to 6.5 :yoinks:
flushed my soil with the 6.5 and it came out the bottom looking like green tea, also acidic like a 4. dont make much sence to me because the water was so basic.
so i flushed my soil till it came out clear and less acitic. but now it showing overwatering. (i think)
the leaves at the top of the plant are rolling under from the sides to the center, the leaves on the bottom are yellow from the stem out. with the smaller leaves on the lower shoots drying out completely. only lost one leaf so far but others look to be on the way out.
sorry my cameras batteries died.

Watch out for ammonia/urea toxicity

Watch out for ammonia/urea toxicity

my ingredients are
12% urea nitrogen
4% phosphate
8% soluble potash
.1% chleated iorn
.05% chleated maganese
.05% chleated zinc

That miracle grow is 100% urea. That sucks. You want at least 60% nitrate nitrogen or more. Little urea or ammonia...no more than 40%. More importantly, you fert does not contain all the micros. You need to find another fert with iron, manganese, zinc, copper, boron, and molybdenum. You should probably add calcium and magnesium every third time you use your regular fert that does not contain these with dolomite lime in the soil. You should do this everytime you fert without dolomite lime in the soil. 1/4 teaspoon of both powdered gypsum and epsom salts per gallon of water along with the regular fert. Adjust your ph of the fert water after mixing to about 6 using an acid or base. :canabis:

Example of low urea/ammonia fert... high in nitrate nitrogen with micros

Example of low urea/ammonia fert... high in nitrate nitrogen with micros

Masterblend 15-16-17 Fertilizer - 25 lb bag

Description Masterblend 15-16-17 formulation contains 70% nitrate nitrogen and trace elements needed for soil-less mixes. This formula will help eliminate the problem of Nitrogen conversion that many other soil-less mix fertilizers exhibit, especially during the cooler, darker periods of the year. Higher Nitrate N gives the grower more precise control in a nutritional program, while producing a crop that matures earlier, with better shelf life and keeping quality.

These good ferts are sometimes called peatlite or soilless mix ferts. You don't have to worry about ammonia/urea toxicity problems because of the nitrate nitrogen.

This particular one is better for flowering because its high in p. 20-10-20 might be a better choice for veg but 15-16-17 would work ok in veg if every fourth fert you use stump remover with no p instead at 1/2 teaspoon per gallon. Greenlight and dexol are two types of stump removers but there are others. Just check the label for potassium nitrate 13-0-44. You can find it at hardware stores.

You can get 15-16-17 25 pound bag for $20 plus shipping. What a value. Now on sale $18!!! :)

N - P - K is the ratio of Nitrogen to Phosphorous to Potassium.....

is your plant large or small?

What is your medium and how big is your container?

When you get a new fert that contains all the micros, I will show you how to measure in ppms rather than guessing with a teaspoon. Easy.

You should adjust your lights so they are directly shining on the plant rather than like a spotlight from a far distance.

Potassium nitrate would be no phosphorus. 13-0-44. If you used 15-16-17 which has a lot of p, you would use the potassium nitrate every fourth fert to give your soil a break from such heavy p applications. P builds up and does not wash out which can lead to micronutrient deficiencies.

Each fertilizer bag has three or more numbers written in it to indicate the amount of each nutrient it contains.

The first number indicates the NITROGEN content measured as % N.

The second number indicates the PHOSPHORUS content measured as % P2O5

The third number indicates the POTASSIUM content measured as % K2O

Any additional numbers indicates the levels of other nutrients. These must be specified. This method of expressing nutrient content is internationally accepted and is law in many areas.

These numbers (the fertilizer formula) help in choosing the correct fertilizers.

For example, if the soil is deficient in phosphorus, then the second number must be high. In this case, 12.24.12 is suitable, 26.0.26 is not.

The formula also allows you to compare fertilizers. One bag of urea (46.0.0) provides more than twice as much nitrogen as a bag of ammonium sulfate (21.0.0).

To convert the k2o to pure k multiply by .83 and p2o5 to pure p multiply by .43 So if you have 10% p2o5 on the fert label this would only be 4.3 % p.

$18 plus shipping for 25 pounds of 15-16-17. What a deal! Just add calcium and magnesium to it every third fert with dol. lime and everytime with no dol. lime. That way the plants get all the nutrients they need.

this morning i woke up do a bunch of dried leaves at the bottom, one of the largest leaves i got is starting to dry out :( idk what to do, im scared ill just make it worse!

thanks for the help,
lights were pulled up just for the pic, but dont worry thats all temporary. started another closet with a 250w mh, looking around local for a agrosun bulb. i really dont want to order stuff online.
is there any nute # combination that would be perfect? or is the 15-16-17 just about as good as it gets?
thx again

We will work with whatever you find as far as ferts just make sure it has all the micros. High nitrate nitrogen and little ammonia urea is what your after. I am afraid what you may find at lowes walmart homedepot, etc...will contain alot of urea ammonia. 15-16-17 25 pound bag will last years. Thats enough for 2270 gallons of fert water at full strength. $18. 20-10-20 is also good too. Make sure it says peatlite or soilless fert and not all purpose with lower levels of micros. Like I said before I will teach you how to measure in ppms not teaspoons. You need a cheap postal scale that can measure 1/4 ounces or ounces if your going to use powdered ferts. 5$ maybe. A triple beam balance would last a lifetime. Remember both the ferts I named have no calcium, magnesium or sulfur so you will need a small bag of powdered gypsum and epsom salts to add.

This company makes hoffman gypsum. You might send an email to find a source for their 5 pound bags. :)
