Problem question

What up everyone. I have some Grape Punch and Magic bud at day 10 in topsoil and perlite. Day 1-6 they were growing daily noticeably, it has slowed down considerably. They were in 16oz cups and under 240watt flouresents and were all looking great day 1-6. I transplanted 20 hours ago and added 160 more watts totaling for 400watt flouresent. When I transplanted all the plants were root bound in their 16oz cups at day 9. I have the fixture about a inch away from my plants. Also, on day 7 I began watering w/ 1/4 teaspoon per gallon of silicate blast in my water.

Anyway my problem is my tallest plants are rapidly developing brown spots on its leafs. I think the light may be burning them but I have a window fan in the room and I thought flouresents could nearly be touching the plants w/o burning them. I just turned the fan on high and watered w/ plain water instead of using the silicated blast water.

So do you think it is my light or the silicate blast that may be the problem? Most of my plants are not looking as sharp as they were prior to transplant... please help Peace

WTF is silcated blast water? LOL..

Sounds like ya overwatering abit..As far as them being root bound @ day 6 or 9 in 16 ounce cups?>>>No way.Let them roots eat up all the space they can to establish a GOOD rootball:wink:.Let them dry out and water only when your cups are light with plain water.240 wtts is plenty of light also, until ya ready for flowering.
Good luck..

Thanks for the replys everyone...Most of my plants have not changed since last night. Except two of them have more brown spots on their leafs and are getting dried out it appears. The leafs are hardening up a bit. Is this due to drying out from heat or just wanting more water.

I have a moisture meter I bought from Home depot, It has a scale of 1-10 of telling how moist the soil is. At what number should I water again? also its always more moist at the bottom of the pot, should I stick the meter as far as I can into the pot or should I get the moisture level just a few inches into the soil?

O ya and wolfshadow the silicated blast water is just water that I added 1/4 teaspoon of silicate blast per gallon of water, but I will be watering with plain water until they shape up (hopefully they will)

thanks again

EDIT: I just checked my moisture level before I watered again and the bottom of the pot is a 10 (1-10 w/ 10 being wettest). I did not water again as I have read MJ does not like muddy roots, so I will wait a day or two to water again or until is it dry in the bottom of the pot. I beleive the brown spots on my leafs could be due to a combination of overwatering and possibly using silicate blast to early. even a plant I did not transplant out of the 16 oz cups is beginning to develop the spots now. I also might raise up my flourescent fixture a few inches. Peace
