Pro or not pro? Double decker veg area

Ok, I've done some homework and I want to upgrade.

I want to combime 3 areas into 1 room

Lets do veg area first.

My space is 8 feet tall, 6 feet wide and 2 feet deep.

I want to double stack some floros and a 400w mH. The 400 will be on the top shelf - actually the light will be on a mover near the ceiling.

Here's a picture with the new shelf in place.

The big hole is a 4 ft carbon filter in a different room. We will be putting a 750 cfm vortex fan in this side and pull air from dual 1000W HPS lamps in Sun System cooled hoods. That's next.

Today I am mounting the light mover for the 400 MH on the ceiling and bringing 4ft floro lamps for the next shelf down.

I may or may not be able to keep the 2 bottom shelfs for storage -

Thanks for stoppn by Spo

Basic soil grow mostly - I'm finishing my first DWC - and it's not pretty.
I use Fox Farms soil/Pearlite and nutes, suplimented with Guano teas, alfalfa/Seaweed and fish juice - and molassass - and ,,,,,,,

I have Hashplant, BOG's LSD and Sour Bubble BX1, AK47, White Russian, Juliet, blockhead - and summtin else for strains.

The other side of the room has 2000W Hps and a fat assed air conditioner.

So tell me about your DWC...? I'd love to help if I can. I am well known around here locally for switching a lot of growers to DWC that had problems with it before or just never tried it.

Love the genetics you got going!! I had BOG's LSD that was gifted to me via clone from a 'true soldier' back in the days of Overgrow.com, but unfortunately I lost it due to security reasons. Sour Bubble is an amazing strain as well... *envious* heh.

So whats your flowering room like?..other than 2 x 1000's and an a/c lol...

I'd suffice it to say my first DWC was a good primer on what not to do.

"My buddy" told me to run pH at about 5.2 so initally I didn't get very good results - later (about 1/2 way throught flower) I got the pH up in the 6.0-6.1 range and things look alot better - -

I didn't start a DWC thread - let's build a room ok?

That should work just fine for you. I am building a similar setup that will be veg, mom, clone room. Stacking the clones and moms/ veg and moms (depending on how many moms I have). Utilize all the space you have. Efficiency is key. BTW my space is 4l x 7w x 8h roughly.

K-!! DONT BE RUDE - ONLY TRYING TO HELP YOU FOOL

K- FOR WHAT? and what the hell are you screaming about in my thread?

YOUR the one pushing your vast and devine DWC expertiese - with your "I can fix your problems" - and dude - as soon as I have a grow room again - I can worry more about growing methods - Last time I checked - lighting, temprature control and ventalation were critical in soil and hydro grows - and you get pissy because I don't bow down to the legend you feel you should be.

geeez sorry dude - can I bow now?

bow

happy now?

DWC works better when lighting, ventilation and temps are running in proper ranges, right? So does soil; ok?

I don't think trying to keep the thread on topic is rude - sounds like you are overly sensitive and have a need to be the center of attention. And I'd also say that you have issues with anyone who tries in vain to remind you of the CHOSEN TOPIC and your kinda being a know it all - but whatever.

Dude seriously I wasn't trying to be anything high and mighty...just trying to help with problems YOU SAID you were having. Obviously if you can't do the basics, you need to figure that out first before worry about building yourself a nice new room, etc.

And it had nothing to do with you "trying to keep it on topic" or whatever you tell yourself. It was how you went about doing it. You were extremely rude, but its whatever, i'm over it. Good luck finding people to help with that attitude. Peace

The problem with my basics - are high temps in the summer. Im doubleing the room - so temps and ventalation are my prioritys - Till that is fixed - everything else is not really important.

pro works fine. Look at stoney419's sog thread, you'll see his veg setup is a lot like this.

Pro. Looks good. Ideas like this help small grow peeps such as myself. Maybe I too can grow more in my limited space.

Greetings Mr C and Disco, thanks for stopping in.

I don't know how detailed to get in this. I've pretty well worn out the search button over the last 6 months and borrowing for some of the best - and adapting to my situation - and lastly checking with other like thinking minds.

Briefly - 2000W Flower area - measures about 6 x 8 ft. using dual Sun Systems II hoods and a 6 ft light rail.

The 750 Cfm 8 in axial fan will draw thru the light hoods and push into the 4 ft charcole filter in an adjoining room.

And on the side is the veg area 320 w floro + some 12' floros for the clone area and a 400W mh on the top layer - also using a light rail for the 400. (Possible upgrade to 600W if needed)

My major concearn is being able to support 48 sq feet of flowering with 24 sq feet of veg. 6x8 flower area and 2 veg areas that are about 2x6

I have to convert both !000W ballasts to 220V and bring in a live 30 amp 120v circut for the veg area.

The fun (est) part,,,, I'd like my pool cue rack in the next room to be the hidden door. But I'm fookin broke from the upgrade. This too shall pass.

That's my story and I'm still in my formulative years - - with a receeding hair line and eyes that are going to hell too.

Excllent point copperheadrd, and one I didn't concider initially, we have lots of ventalation and ac for the summer doldrums. But without massive air movement heat does rise.

So far I can run all the lights on a cool day and hold 75-77 F (25C) and the AC cycles and dosen't appear to be working very hard at all. - It was raining the first day I could run everything.

We have some 85's coming soon - then summer should get here! lol

And the 400 is also on a light mover, so i spreads the heat over a 5-foot long swath

Greetings all

It's been a hectic couple months - got laid off at work so the garden is enjoying the additional attention.

I've sorta converted over to rockwool and put in one more layer in shelf unit for vegging,

And I've had one of the 1000 HPS's running for a couple days now.

Summer is getting here - it's 88 outside the grow room is 76.

I shoulda put an a/c in there years ago.
