Pro Mix for potting

I am just getting started on a run of Strawberry D and I am going to use Pro Mix for potting. Having never grown in anything but dirt, I am not sure if the Pro Mix will require more or less or the same amount of nutrient as when in dirt. I would be happy to hear from anybody that is familiar with this grow medium. I started these babies in dirt and will t-plant to Pro Mix.

p.s. here are my babies, the seeds were gifted to me and were about a year old 4 out of 5 popped.

Pro-Mix is a soiless medium. I don't think the amount you feed them differs from soiless to soil, i have used soiless before as well as soil and have never had to change my feeding regimens. However, when in soiless the PH should be 5.5-6.0

There are a ton of threads on here, IC, on pro-mix and how to use it. lots of soil recipes. Click over to the organics section and take a look. Follow one that best suits your style.
And, if it was me, I'd put more soil, or whatever your growing medium is, in those cups. Just add a litle as the plant stretches. The seedling will grow roots along the the stem as it, the stem, is covered. But again, that is how I would do it. YMMV
Be careful though. You could kill off your beauties. Particularly if you are using a heavy growing medium.

thanks for the links. I used to carefully remove my seedlings and plant them deeper, now I just start the cups low and backfill as they grow. I am just a little nervous about changing my grow system. Soil has been very good to me, but I am interested in some benefits of pro mix.

thanks for the heads up on the ph sweetindica.

Soiless like promix requires less feeding because it has a higher CEC (cation exchange capacity) than soil.
Promix acts like an "ionic sponge" quckly absorbing the nutes you give it.

That's why flushing in soiless is so much more importnant than soil.

cant go wrong with the pro mix, as others have said, add a little more to your cups, like to the top, and periodicoly flush the pro mix when you get your starts going, usually after 6 to 8 weeks i would flush once a week then feed each 5 gallon container with 5 gallons of the GH advanced nutrient formula
