Pro-Mix BX Question

I buy my Pro-Mix BX from Homedepot and the color of the package is different then every other package I see out there. The color packages I see everyone buying on here looks like this:

The one at hope depot is like an orange yellow blend of packaging, is there a difference? Does Home-Depot sell the back and white bag and I just miss it? Thanks everyone.

It appears that there are 3 kinds of promix bx. One just plain, one with biofungicide, and one with mycorise. This may explain the different packaging. I don't think its a big deal. They are adding the extra stuff to be trendy. Here is an ingredient sheet: http://www.premierhort.com/eProMix/Horticulture/Products/pdf/eProCompChart.pdf At the very bottom of the page in small print, it tells what the extra mycorise and biofungicide are and what they do.

I inquired about this my last trip to Home DePOT. The kind lady's responce was the Promix HomeDepot carries it made by the same MFGR but put into generic bails without the fancy labels.

I don't know... but I still end up at the 'Dro shop getting the bail with the fancy label.

Thanks for the link, I havn't seen that chart yet. I'll check out my hydro store to see if they have pro-mix in these bags. I'd rather get the right ones, if not I'll just get the same old stuff i've always been getting. It isn't bad, I'd like to try the ones with additives though.

Stoned Silly...Home Depot in NY sells it....It comes in a different color bag then the ones you buy from the grow shop..It's like orange and white or something close..I think it said COMMERCAIL GRADE or something to that effect on it..A buddy of mine had a bag, I asked where he got it..Home depot was his answer..I use the big White bales with Mycorise...Good shit, works like a champ...peace

the black bags of promix bx is promix bx. the orange bags of promix bx are there new shit with added mycrorise. The orange bag is the same as the black bag but better because it has added mycrorise in it. yeah the home depots around here dont carry promix ether. any way, go orange!

surely u are not speaking from experience.

folks, the white bag is 'new' HP [with 'mycorise' and no vermiculite & a 'ganic starter fert] also avail in a green bag 'organic mix'

the white/red/orange multicolor fade bag is BX without the starter fert. avail in NY etc at depot, agway, etc, in summer

black bag is BX.

there is no mycorrhizae, nor starter fert in the bag available in his area at home depot.

just had to clear up the misinformation,carry-on:wave::ying:

H3ad-Thats exactly what I have been using, I have a liquid form of mycorrhizae so I guess i'll just use that early in the growth cycle.

mycorrhizae is not fertilizer brother, use it as early on as possible to 'innoculate' yer medium ;)

use as directed, it may be geared for a certain growth phase, there are many products on the market now...
im very curious, Kreat, what 'quid myco's are u usin? AN stuff? thx in advance for the additional info:yes: :)

Personally - I just switched to the white/yellow/orange bag of pro-mix BX the one w/mycorise, before i was just using the black bag pro-mix. Although I can't attribute the increase in growth solely to the new pro-mix (I just switched to Metanaturals nutes too) I would have to guess that the addition of the Mycorise has something to do with it. as a matter of fact - 10 days into flowering I was so impressed that i went back to Agway and bought 2 more bails.

I use the Promix HP with mychorizae and could see a difference right away, I also use Mike with every transplant and it is by far the most under-rated soil innoculant around, it will magnify the rootzones potential and root mass extensively.

Promix is Promix on the whole, this Mike stuff is the first real diff. I've seen seing as I add 30% perlite, 2% dlime, 10% casting, bone and bloof meal as well as kelp meal, I doubt the extra little bit of content in the Pro Mix will be of any crucial difference.
