Private Torrent Sites?

Hey, ive been using isohunt.com for my torrents but ive seen sites like demonoid and was wondering if there was a real advantage to these sites like more seeds faster speeds, etc..., and if anyone had a login or invite to one of these sites if they are better.

demonoid is nice, they let you register usually 4 days a month, usually on weekends, ya just gotta check back every day or so til you get in..
i dont have a invitation code for it though..

i just usually just google "whatimsearching for" + the word "torrent" and almost always find a few hits

the advantage is that there are no fakes if the torrents are intern.

some of them really enforce people to meet their 1:1 ratio. Because of this they torrents are much faster. Plus its probably less likely that law enforcement is watching in on the traffic if its a private site.

Yea and the really good ones have screen shots for pr0n so u don't have to DL all the crap. Or atleast get to see a sneak preview of sort..

isohunt is crap compared to torrentspy. You can also work around alot of private trackers with Azureus. Just make sure you keep your peerguardian updated because safenet inc is on a content protection rampage.

now that im thinking about it torrentpond is also nice in the fact that you can search tons of torrent sites from their one site, havent been there in forever..favorites list got erased

unless you're looking for some obscure music (i never use torrents to dl music )
that's the only thing i could see a reason for going to a membership site.

And then, for hard to find music you most often won't use torrents but rather another p2p software which is specific to music, which doesn't work like emule and not like torrents either.

For most searches, mininova or isohunt, piratebay (puretna for pron) and the software µtorrent are efficient.

Yeah, for just music, not entire albums like bt, I like to use the SoulSeek app. The Linux version is called Nicotine Plus.

I would like to check out Oink also. If anyone wants to swap for a Demonoid invite, lemme know!

Well I can't answer whoever sent me a PM, because of the silly 50 post rule. Seems like it increases new people just spamming to get to 50 posts, but its not my site. Maybe an admin can solve this problem for me and activate my PM's or something....

Oink is the best torrent site I have used and I have used many. It is great for obscure music, learning videos, and PDFs. Everything is top notch quality. If it is not the uploader can be banned. They are very strict which is a good thing. I wish I had some invites to give out.

Soulseek is another great P2P app but it can be a pain d/l things since you are only downloading from one user.

On another note, that sucks about the 50 post minimum for PMs.

I learned about it the hard way after I got a nasty-gram from my isp forwarded from BayTSP [ another content internet watchdog company.] After downloading a Warner Bros flick. Now I use it all the time since I sometimes will grab something new by mistake.
