i'm just wondering if this guy is trying to rip me off. He's charging me 100 dollars for just regular weed for just one ounce. I think he's fucking with me cause before he said it only costs 60 bucks for an ounce last week. What do you think?
This isn't like, some super strong weed either...it's just regular stuff.

Typically, how much does an ounce cost in the state of Florida

My brother lives there and deals with alot of different FL. buds.

Which of these do you have

Just regular Reg $50 oz if you know the right person
Kickass Reg $100 oz if youknow the right person.

There are two different types of REG in central florida and it sounds like you have the first one. If you have the first one, you should be paying $60 oz and if your paying $100 your getting the tourist price.
Good luck

wonderin....

wonderin....

what kind is bomb ass reg weed? Like how does it not come out good? What makes it so shitty with seeds? i always wondered that...

Let me breakit down some

Regular REG Good weed, has nice color and is seeded. You can tell it was grown outside. Most of it comes from Gainsville.

Kickass REG Is also good looking weed, but with very few seeds if any. My brother sent me some seeds from a killer bag and it only had three seeds in the whole oz. This stuff is also grown outside, but better care is taken. I would thing they are the same strain, but the better stuff is taken care of alot better and most males are weeded out. Alot of the stuff in grown in Gainsville in the fern fields and the mexicans take care of it for the Bosses. Hope this helps some

And for some of you people that are thinking that i just gave a sercret away. Well everyone knows where the weed is grown. The question is do you want to cross the people that grows acres of the stuff. It is not a uncommon things for a few mexicans to just up an vanish for stealing from the crops and this does apply to rippers in FL.

I'd actually disagree.
(But in the nicest way!) :)

Gainseville hasn't seen much commercial outdoor growing since the late 1980s....and they heyday was the 70s,when G'Ville was essentially a hippie colony.
It ended when the Brothers got nailed by the DEA using floats in the swamps....and one's still in prison,I believe.
Nasty DEA family-destroying tactical b.s. tended to dampen enthusiasm.
There's a throwback or two left, but most of that dreck-ass herb $50-$100/oz.comes from Mexico or Columbia, care of Miami.

Micanopy Moonbeam aka Gainseville Green....

**And I have some of the last Mi Moonbeam seeds known, thanks to Jeast, who shared them before his unfortunate legal snafu which resulted in the loss of his rare and precious seedstock.

I agree with Rez on this one, most of the Reg's as they call it here is Mexi brickweed, 25%seeds, 25%stems, 50% bud. Really brown looking stuff and all the buds are smashed flat.

Right on REZ! I remember that potent "Gainesville Green". Down in the south 1/5th of the state there is "Regs", most of it is brown nasty mexican brick like weed that sells for $50 to $75 an oz. And then there is "Krips", which is usually decent and sometimes very good. It can go as high as $400 an ounce. I am fortunately out of the loop and have found a method that produces a much better quality product at very little cost.

Well thanks for the info on the DEA story. I grew up there and spent most of my life there. I lived there or very clsoe and know the biggest families there and yes REZ is right, but your also wrong in a very nice way. Before anyone thinks this is going to start into a fight or something its not. We are talking here, not starting anything with each other. There is still very large grows there and me and my family are still in that inter circule when i go home to visit my family. Things have changed alot since then and alot of farms that are hiring illegal mexicans are growing. There is alot of Corruptions going on there these days and you can watch two mexicans kill each other on a firday night at a bar with cops watching. Beleave me when i tell you they are growing again on a very large scale. I've seen it with my own eyes and have walked the fields. But, if no one want to believe me, thats cool. I'm not going to get upset, and yes there is alot of Mexican and Columbia coming through there. Everyone have a nice night and take care. It's no biggy and i'll get some of the Gainseville Green when i go home for Christmas and post some picture you ya'll.
Take care

Cheers!

using floats in the swamps
???

Could you expand on that please.
I can't visualise what they were doing.
Raft type growing platforms? Thanks.

:)
Jerry Lewis was having another one of his infamous telethons, this time here in Gainesville. The building was filled with the rings of phone calls from citizens eager to help stop muscular dystrophy. One group in particular was especially eager.

They placed a brown paper bag outside the building. Inside was $10,000 and a note that read: "Compliments of Gainesville Green."

What, you ask, could Gainesville have possibly stamped its name on that was so magical as to generate this amount of cash and this amount of generosity?

The explanation, according to Jodi James, executive director of Florida's Cannabis Action Network, is not some "cute" little story. Instead, this locally grown strain of marijuana, prevalent here about three decades ago, was "the thing legends are made of."

In fact, she recalls "pot in the trees, teepees, dancing, drumming, joints everywhere…"

In the Swamps they would build platforms and mount the plants ontop of them. You could move them around and tire them up to trees. You could get better sunlight and also hide them in different locations from the planes and choppers also. I also living on the Bayou in a town called Cutoff,LA for awhile and the cajun would do the same thing. Build small platforms and float around their plants and tire them up to the tree trunks. I hope this helps

I just went ahead and bought an ounce for 100 bucks. There is a lot of seeds in it. Could I plant those? and grow my own?

Quality genetics will give quality results...

sure ya could plant those, are you that impressed with your purchase? I would suggest that you break down and order from Seeds Direct .
Something from say Nirvana if your on a real tight budget, 20 bucks U.S. delivered, will get you some pretty decent genetics.
Many other very impressive choices are available for less than you paid for that latest o-z.

There once was a time, not so long ago, when growing a seed from a bag was the only option one had. (really granpah?)
These days with world class genetics just an envelope in the mail away, it seems like a waste of time and effort to attempt a grow from seeds out of a so-so quality bag. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. :)

I'm gonna try it with all the seeds I have. Damn, we just went through and separated the stems and the seeds from the weed and omg, there's so many seeds!
I should only put 4 or 5 seeds in each pot right? well, first I have to submerge the seeds in water right? I have no idea what to do.

Oh yeah...since I will be leaving for about 5 days, I'm going to follow your advice and not plant the seeds that I'll be getting yet. This will mean that they won't be planted for about a month and a half. Will they be ok till we get back and I can finally plant them? Or is there something special I should do with them to keep them fresh?
thanks!

Hunter your seeds will be just as fine when you leave and return as they are now. Cannabis seeds can keep for quite some time, even in not perfect conditions you can expect a shelf life of 1 - 2 years or so...but this is another chapter....just make sure you put them somewhere cool and above all DRY.

And Hunter, never plant more than one seed per pot. The reason is that if you get males and females in the same pot you won't be able to separate them because the roots will all be tangled together, and if you chop the male the roots which remain in the pot are susceptible to rot and other not so nice things that could kill the female you have so patiently and lovingly succeeded in growing! The health of your plants depends on the health of their roots. Good yields of good grass come from plants with healthy roots. They need room to grow and air. This is rule number 1! Hope that's clear to you.
