Preying for my buddy

A good friend of mine, who I grew up with in new york city through most of my childhood had a bad mental breakdown the night before last. Apparently, there have been Xanax look-a-likes going around Long Island that weren't what they were pressed to look like. I don't condone his behavior as I'm just a toker, but from what his family has expressed to me he had eaten 3 "bars", or 3mg Xanax, and had flipped out completley. He tried fighting his parents, the police when they arrived, and had no idea who anyone around him was in a sense. He was admitted to the General Hospital where his blood was drawn and found to contain high-dose traces of PCP. Its been 36 hours since his admittance and hes shown no signs of sanity or self-control, and has been strapped to a bed for the duration. He was given doses of Thorazine to calm him down until they were afraid of blood toxicity, and still haven't been able to get him to sleep. Joe made a lot of bad decisions and continues to but hes a good person and my best friend, and the doctors are saying that he may never come out of this the same. I'm smoking on some Jack Herer, his favorite, trying to relax and do as much as I can 1000 miles away...I hope to visit him this weekend if I can...I don't know - Hes a good guy and hes never been a psych head and I don't know who to point fingers at anymore but I just ask that anyone who can sympathize, include him in any praire you partake in for myself and his family...god knows hes gonna need it. -clepto

hmm, never heard of this, kind of pointless to give someone more expensve drugs, xanys are cheap, pcp in ny is pretty rare

36 hours? doubt it

man i hope your friend snaps out of it. my gf is prescribed to xanax 2mg bars and 1mg nirivam (dissolvable xanax), and i used to always raid her stash for a good 4 months or so letting it build up in my system, and when withdrawing from the drug, i did have one freak out episode. i think panic attacks are pretty common when stopping cold turkey from long term use, if not taken off them gradually.

has your freind been on them for a while?

Sorry to hear about your friend. Some people have a bad reaction to the juice. He will come down eventually. I just hope the cops dont throw the book at him. You know how they like to beat the shit out of people for resisting arrest.

lol you mean praying. preying is something completely different. I'm not religious so i don't pray at all but i do wish your friend good luck

I just got an update from his sister, hes been sedated and the rage stopped sometime this morning, they told him hes in a real spacey state and has been coming in and out of it...I'm flying out there next weekend to be with his family while this transpires. But get this - apparently, the hospital that they brought him to has had over 150 patients in the past 2 monthes for similar cases, supposed Xanax overdoses turned out to be PCP intoxications. They described to his family the same rage and lack of self-control, just not nearly as drastic. Hopefully the media will be on this soon and the urban cowboys that make their salary off of our taxes will find the sick fucks that are spreading that shit around. killa-bud - I thought the same rationalization - Dust runs a $150+ gram when you can find it, why spike doses in $5 pills? Doesn't make sense to me, but the tox screening that tested negative for Benze's and + for PCP does. Shit is fucked up.

Blech, Xanax.....I have a buddy that has eaten his fair share. Shit, one time he ate somewhere near 30 in 24 hours, possibly more, I am not certain. The point is that he had a big problem with them. Decided to quit after he misplaced a few hundred (1200) dollars and never could find it. He was throwing up and dizzy for a little under a month. Lost some serious weight and was pissed at everyone all the time. Needless to say, he is hooked on them again, and other things. Back to his normal self, if you will. Just never understood why someone would want to take those things...

Hope your buddy snaps out and pulls through.

It isnt a xanax problem, its a pcp problem. Not a good thing. There are cases where pcp has caused people to kill their families years after stopping. I'd find out where he got the pcp from and have a conversation with them. Dangerous stuff....
