i was worried about nute burn so i flushed with tap really well.i read up on flushing and all i see is at the end of flower flushing,.
my ? is is it ok to flush when ya think ya might have problems than to wait to ya know for sure ya got problems,
i doing a soil coco hybrid ghetto style with fox farm big bloom and i added some big grow and was worried i had too much N so i flushed and trimmed off some bottom leaves that were dying.

so any hoo whats the word with an occasional flush, i use light nutes every watering so far so i upped ferts to push them and got nervous so i flushed good this morning, any help would be appreciated, thanks bag

Are we talking about soil or hydro?

sorry, now read coco. Never touched the stuff myself so can't help you there.

Good luck.

I have a question.

Why is it peeps do something to the garden AND THEN ASK IF IT'S A GOOD IDEA???????

I'm not qualified about coco, yet,,, but I'd ask first and decide.

I can tell you this - more plants die and get sick because of over loving and "I thought it could use,,,,," than any other single cause.

If it ain't broke - why risk it?.

Slow and easy is the way - flitting aroung with this, and that; and reacting to your fears and not the plants signs are not going to help the garden - improve the harvest, or make you a better grower.

Ruining a grow is one way to learn - it's NOT the fun way to learn.

valid point rocky.
anyhoo, do folks do a flush everyso often to get salts out or for any reason.
i usually fert with weak ferts every watering so i keep upping them to see what they can take and i thought i saw some burn on the tips of my leaves so i flushed.
i usually chat to folks in chat about my newbie questions but i get up to damn early these days for anyone to be there

I grow in coco, and I use 1/3 strength nutes, my plants are not burned, yet, after a month I can see the salts building up on the surface of the pots - whitish residue -

So instead of waiting for my plants to tell me that they are really unhappy now, I flush every month, because I know what will inevitably happen if I don't.

So yes, I fix before its broken...

Im running those same nutes in soil and flush after every two feedings.
My plants really seem to be reacting well to this schedule.
That grow big/big bloom combo makes my plants grow almost too fast using this method.
I've heard that there isn't as much salt build up that occurs from these nutes compared to something heavier, for instance FloraNova.
Hope this sheds some light on your issue bagseed. keep in mind i have no coco in my mixture only soil and perlite.

bagseed77 Glad you brought up the question. same here i've been looking up about flushing and all i see is about the end of flower flush. i'm using bio-bizz allmix and bio-biz nutes in 11litre containers i also heard that there isn't much salt build up with these nutes but still there must be some right?

how did you flush yours and how much water did you use?

did you use any nutes?

i'm just not sure if i need to flush or how to go about it?

can anyone shed some light on this please?

i use tap , lots of it ,my tap is 5.5 , i just water let drain , water let drain like 5 times, my soil coco ghetto style drains extra well

Personally I used to run really high ppms for 6 days then topflush with clearex, let eveything drain into res, dump old nutes and clearex, refill res with pH6.0 r/o water and run that for a day, next day (7th) dump that, refill new water and hi ppm nutes. I don't think 1 out of 7 days with a flush/plain water really effects yeild. Just my opinion.. Oh yeah and I'm not backing hi ppms anymore hahahahah.
