Pressed for time, veg vs flower - something's gotta give!

Hi you guys, here's the sit-rap:

I was forced to start a grow much later than planned, and I'm a bit worried will my girls be able to finish by the time I have to move from my current location.

The strains on this run are Kosher Kush x3 and Bubblegum x 1
4x4 tent, 600W HPS with a balanced spectrum for 18/6 and 12/12,
3 gal pots with quality soil.

The girls have been vegging for 1,5 weeks now, and if I veg them for another ~2 weeks, I will then have ~70 days for the flowering period and about 5-6 days for drying before I have to move. Drying in my new place is not an option, but I will cure them there once settled in.

What I've gathered online, Kosher Kush will take between 60-70 days to finish, Bubblegum a little less, around 60 days.

And finally we arrive to my question:

Would you sacrifice some of the (already short) veg time to make more "room" for the flowering phase, or veg till the last minute, make the flip and harvest at day 70? My veg time right now is far from what I had hoped, and I don't want to end up with dwarf plants with zero yield, so I'm tempted to veg a little longer. On the otherhand I don't want to ruin the crop by harvesting too soon.

What say you?

Umm time of cycles depends on a lot more then what you found online, say you and your friend have a clone from the same mother and his finishes on day 56 and you finish day 60-63 well a lot has a variable to play when growing what nutrient line you use what feed cycle your looking to feed them, how healthy and vibrant your plants are, any pest or problems will slow down your cycle Co2 and environment play a big part too. So one can't say you'll finishes sooner or later. But here's my story I have DJ's Gold (DJ Shorts Blueberry X Jew Gold AKA Kosher Kush) and the internet says 9 week flower cycle and I'm on a 7 week feeding cycle and I induce flowering I have no pest or problems I also supplement Co2, my plants are about to finish week 5 and I'm pretty sure by the time I hit day 56 it'll be pretty close to harvest time, but what if they still go 9 weeks, so one can't predict when harvest will come

Vegging indoors with 18 hours of light is a waste...

You can grow from seed those crosses straight 12/12. In 4 weeks they'll show sex and after another 8-10 weeks in flower they should be done.

You can transplant the plants you are already vegging into bigger pots and switch to 12/12 now.

Guess it all depends on what you are looking for for yield. Are these plants from seed or clone? 12/12 from seed you can expect 1oz+ per plant. Do you need more than 5 oz? In the end its your decision. Me personally I would flip to 12/12 now. I would rather harvest SOME medicine that is fully finished than more quantity and risk having to harvest early... Just my 2cents

They are from seed, started counting veg when I transplanted them from beer cups. They have 4-5 sets of leaves and are growing vigorously, really tempted to grow them a bit more before flipping... I would imagine if I leave 80 days of time after the flip I'd be fine?

Have they shown sex or alternating nodes yet? If not my recommendation is to flip to flower....

Not yet... How so? Aren't you supposed to wait for preflowers and/or alternating nodes before flipping?

Thanks for the help BTW, I appreciate it!

hey there getbuck. i'd go with quality over quantity, so i'd flip them so they get a full 60 days of flower

If they havent shown preflowers yet it could still take a couple weeks before they actually start flowering even with the flip to 12/12. So again, I recommend flipping to 12/12 to force flower.

You dont HAVE to wait for anything per se. You can go 12/12 from seed, they will just start flowering when mature.

Aah, I see what you mean now, makes sense. I guess (hope) I'll still get a little better yield with this short veg vs 12/12 from seed...:freezing:

This!

Personally, I haven't grown anything that didn't have a week or 2 longer flowering time than what was stated with the particular genetic.
Seems most breeders count weeks from 1st flowers and not from the start of 12/12.
Better off flowering a short plant and harvesting ready bud than flowering a tall plant that has no hope of finishing.

The ladies just started their first long night. Thanks for your input guys! After calculating the time it was painfully obvious that the risk of losing bloomtime was not worth it.
