Preserving used coco in between grows?

my coco was dry when i got it came in a brick so y would it being dry b a problem? iono
Yeah, I used to recycle my Hydroton by allowin it to dry....I feel it kills off any good/bad bacteria, and you may be correct w/ the mold issue as well. But you can probably just as easily allow it to dry and re-innoculate the medium I would think.
i reuse my coco for outdoor plants maby clones. Use a cheep sive like for grading sand big holes to allow coco through but not bark, roots, clay/ perlite. Takes a while and easier when on the dryer side..
Run some canna zzym and ro water through the coco roughly 10litres per 10 litres of coco if not more or when salt level drops below 1.0ec. Let it dry to the consistancy of when first bought Then stored in garbage bags with the odd hole so moisture and mould doesnt got too high.. Ive only had one bag go mouldy happened to be the only bag i didnt flush or remove roots from.
Before you use flush again and use canna buffer.

up to now i have always just packed up my slabs in trash bags and put them in the cellar till i need them again. don't think much can go wrong with them. if it drys it can be re wet when you next need it. you just add some rhizo, and zym with your nutrients solution and your coco is good to go again. the only time it's not worth re using it is if it is so full of roots that you can't make use of it. if you pack the coco with too much water it might cause it to brake down over time. the white fungus that grows on the coco in such situations is due to the live nature of the coco. it is in fact a beneficial fungus. a few moths in trash bags is no problem what so ever. been there, done that. if you are talking about a year, or more then i can't say for sure as i have not had to stash used coco for that long before. but 4 months between use seemed to be totally ok.
