Starting slow and growing in soil done some reading and am a little overwelmed on all the combos of this and that. So if anyone could share some insight into some real life hands on info, into soil/soiless/organic and nutes for a first time grower I'd appreciate it. I have a quandry of questions buzzing in my head figured I'd start with this one.

I guess we could tell you what we use but everyone will have different answers. As a new grower myself I can say that soil would be your best bet. I am a happyfrog man myself. I use about...
6 parts soil
3 parts vermiculite
1 part vermiulite
I add a tablepoon of blood and bone meal to my soil and mix them in a five gallon container. Add some water and let it bake out in the sun turning it everyday for about a week adding a little water to keep it moist. This will help it incorporate into the soil. Then cool it off in the basement next day it is ready. When I finish plants I remove as much of the stalk from the soil, shred the roots and repeat the process. For nutes I use Fox farms line and bud candy during flowering.
There are a thousand different ways to grow. Do a little research and find the one you feel most comfortable with.

Like Oldtree said, there are so many different ways to grow, just take it step at a time,

Indoor or Outdoor

if indoor what kind of lights and grow medium will you use

if outdoor is the area safe and secure

trust me every single nugget of information you could ever possibly need is on these forums, some of the people on here grow some amazing things and it is a community so we are all here to help. Anything at all you need help with. I only ask that before you start asking questions, search the forums first, chances are 1000 people before you asked the same questions when they were starting out and there will be alot for you to read. But at the end of the day you can read all you want but the only way to do it properly is to get stuck in and planting,

All the best and verry good luck with your first grow man.

Cheers

Indoor or Outdoor?

I have seen many people on the boards suggest starting off with inexpensive seeds until you get your feet wet. I say screw that.

Dont skimp on the genetics for fear of failing on the first try. Buy some quailty genetics that you are guaranteed to want to smoke. WHEN you succeed, you will not be disapointed if you get the seeds you REALLY want. Pay the extra money for them if it's really the item you want, and start out with 20 seeds if possible to ensure you'll get a decent amount of females.

Id agree with that phoenix but for a first time grower the lighting system is prob gonna be the big issue once you have the genetics

Dont skimp on the genetics for fear of failing on the first try. Buy some quailty genetics that you are guaranteed to want to smoke. And I say screw that... Not disrespectfully, just saying...

It depends...how much money do you have...do you have ANY experience growing a plant from seed? If you do...go ahead, buy the $100 pack of 10 seeds. If you don't...I'd HIGHLY recommend that you cut your teeth on something a little cheaper. you can get good seeds cheap. Nirvana, Mandela...

You should go to the journals or grow diaries and find a nice simple grow similar to what you think you can handle, read about it, and pm the guy doing the grow with any questions. If he posted a grow diary...he'll be more than willing to tell you about it! Why reinvent the wheel? I'd suggest a simple soil grow. for a first timer.

Expensive seeds don't guarantee a strong/potent plant...you'll still have to look for "the one".

Good luck with whatever you decide.

More confused now?

I agree 100%. After I figured out what strains I wanted I started to look for the tools I would need to grow them out. The process took months and a shit-ton of cash, which like anything you get what you pay for.

Like you I was a 1st timer and even though I ran into trouble and had to chop 20 days early it was still better than any of the local smoke. :) Good luck to ya bro :good:

I'm Indoor/Mainly Sativa with 2 600w HPS to flower with and I'm still gathering info on what to veg with whether MH or flouroscents. Working in an 8'x11' bloom room and 3'x11' veg room but do to medical legalities I'm only allowed 12 plants for now so basically 6 veg, 6 flower at a time not that I'm complaining. So inlies my quandry of questions I have ample room. Is it to much room should I section off the bloom room so I get enough light reflection? Plus I have Temp/Humidity to control so I've been browsing for affordable controllers for vent fan and timers for lights. And I did aquire some good info last night here, on Organic gardening. And I'm going the route of aquiring feminized seeds to hopefully get the ball rolling in the right direction from the start. Thanks for the input, I'm going to keep browsing the threads to find the general shit.
