PPM and Ph keep going up..

Hello my PPM keeps rising until about 850 - 900 PPM. Is this normal and how can I lower it?

Ph keeps going up to 6.5. I adjust it every morning to 5.7. Is this normal?

By now I would think the Hydroton and Rockwool have no effect. I am using water from my dehumidifier with 22 PPM and 5.9 Ph.

pH down (and pH up) will increase ppm. make sure solution is completely dissolved before adding. what are you using for pH down?

Hydroton will not affect but RW certainly will. Rockwool is made from spun basalt rock (like cotton candy) and the 2 major components of basalt are calcium and magnesium. They are both alkaline and also buffer ph, which makes it harder to lower. Eventually they will dissolve out of the rockwool and cease to be a factor.

How do the plants look, overall? Uniform dark green or blotchy and spotty?

PPMs will rise as water evaporates from your rez, so topping with your plain water would lower ppms.

PPMS will lower as plants eat up the food. A good indicator to the status of your plants.

I am using General Hydroponics Ph Down. The solution is mixed with a bubble and a pump running 24/7. I have noticed the ph down increases the PPM by only 29 PPM.

Plants look great. I just have to keep up on the pH. Some plants have nute burn so I have been just adding water to the tank. So that makes sense the water evaps the pH goes up. Thanks for the info.
