PowerFlower soil

Anyone else out there using this in their gardens? Definitely seem like a hot mix, it says on the bag no feeding required for 60 days. The plants were vegged in Fox Farm which I'm used to, but was surprised by the slight leaf burn after transplant into 5's with PF. Anyhow a couple weeks into 12/12 and they are looking good in this mix, nice set. So far just feeding A.C.T made with earthworm castings, molases, kelp brewed till frothy.

I've never had a problem with powerflower burning plants before. The only thing with powerflower is it is a really thick soil, so drainage can sometimes be an issue. Adding some perlite or vermiculite usually solves this problem, and allows the plant to adapt mo' betta, especially if the girls has been raised in ocean forest.

hey guys, im gonna be doing a grow with powerflower... does it need any lime or is it buffered already? also how much perlite or vermiculite does one need to add?

i had problems with powerflower not wanting to absorb water. i used several bags and always had this problem. i thinks it is good soil for outdoor grows where you can totaly soak the soil. it just makes a big mess indoor. i also think that i get better flavor out of fox farm. don't get me wrong. i've seen some real nice plants grown in PF. they were just in conditions where making a huge water mess wasn't an issue.

I didn't add much perlite so mine absorbed water, used drip emitters and it was super simple. My nickname is "chief running water", and actually didn't make a mess hehehe. I only fertilized twice during week 5 with some metanaturals and was impressed with how they turned out, definitely a well amended soil. Next round I'm mixing ocean harvest & PF, I think they will compliment each other well.

1 bag PF
1 bag Ocean Harvest
1 bag light warrior
2 5 gal buckets of perlite
1 cup POM fruit & flower

Power Flower contains marine bird guano and chicken manure which might explain the slight leaf tip burn.

Good luck and keep us posted on the progress. I would like to know your opinion when you are finished on your use of Power Flower.

The buds turned out really dank ... harvested beg of apr. but now they have a good cure on them and the patients are giving good feedback, good dense organic funk.

new mix is working out super...

1 bag power flower
1 bag fox farm OF
1 bag light warrior
1/2 bag chunky perlite
1 cup POM fruit & flower
1 cup pyro-clay

first week of flowering and the plants are growing faster, thicker stems.
