I just got a power sentry outlet strip with 6 plugs....and i went and plugged in an electric heater into it...and walked away and all my lights shut off....the strip is my main power supply so i went to it and it reset itself and kicked over to off..??? Why did it do this?? so then i plugged in the heater again and a few seconds later it shut off again??? Does anyone know why this is happening??

My guess, till one of our electric guru's check in, is that the heater is causing a near overload, or pulling enough amperage to trigger the fail safe feature. I use those strips too, and I have killed one [water splash into a vacant plug] but they have never acted that way, but heaters are dangerous. Unplug the heater.

well this is my main power supply....off of the strip i have an extension cord...to a 600w hps...a few air pumps...a fan....a few floros.....another fan...

Sounds like you are pulling too much power through the power bar, add up the amps used by all of the things you have running off of it. Then check that against what the power strip is rated at, remember that it a good idea to maintain a 20% safety margin too.

 the lil heaters pull to be so small. is the 6oo a digi or the old school magnetic that spikes on the startup? i suggest if you're just using it a couple hours a night drag another cord in there from a different part of the house(seperate breaker) to run the heater by itself. thats your cheapest option.
