Powdery Substance... HELP!

Greetings!!!

Just an FYI (Im no n00b, newb, noob, etc.)... Its been YEARS since I have been on or a member of these forums. I am an original OGer from 99-00. I used here to come and read from time to time, over the years but haulted my cultivating after some legal issues. (Non-drug related - ok my friggin dogs bit someone)

Anyway... I am back... with my first outdoor attempt.

Some background: I have been sitting on some of BOGs Grape Punch and SOL SWT#3 (Inspected Stock from GN) beans since about 2 years ago. I decide to do an small indoor grow. Well, the finances didnt work out for a nice 600 hps as I wanted. So I extended the growing on these plants for some time under a bank of CFLs. When I saw I was not going to get the HPS I decided forcing their flowering. (as they were about 8-9 weeks old consistantly trimmed back due to lack of height in the seed vegging area.)

I found 4 nice ladies... 2 Grape Punch - 2 SWT#3. The GP started flowering (or showing pre-flowers) WAAAY later than the SWT#3. Almost 3 weeks later. Even now, the SWT#3 almost looks ripe for picking. Little if any clear trichs, but no amber ones yets. (but the old rule - if it looks ready, give it 2 weeks, is one I live by.) LOL

So I take some FF Happy Frog and dump it into 4 holes I dug outside around July 4th. (BTW Im in GA/AL) And dump the girls off in their respective new homes. Anyway... not too far into preflower I get this "creeping" whitish powdery "film" (for lack of a better word) showing up on one plant. (SWT#3)

I have tried researching and all I can come up with is Powdery Mildew. I will post pics if possible...

Thanks in advance....

Are the plants unhealthy otherwise?

Do you have hard water and do you foliar spray them at all?

can you rub it off with your finger?

it does look like the powdery mildew.and you can use milk.if you mix a 1/2 tsp of milk,1/2 an aspirin,1/2 tsp epsom salts and 1/4 tsp baking soda to 4 liters of water and spray foliarly after removing the most affected leaves it should do the trick.you can also use just a 1/2 tsp baking soda per 4 liters of water, just make sure you rinse with plain water in between applications.good luck brother, mason

They seem perfectly healthy otherwise. No molding of buds, nothing except the ocassional pest.

It showed up actually after some rain in the area. I do not foliar spray outdoors.

And yes it can be rubbed off with my fingers.

Thanks for he reply... I will search more on it and give it a try....

The main problem is on one plant nearly all exposed leafs have the mildew. I even sat outside one morrning and used a soft toothbrush some liquid soap (dishes) diluted WAY down, and a sponge and cleaned and dried each individual leaf on this first plant. It was gone for a while... but returned.

So removing leaves on one is out of the question. As the SWT#3 is almost done.

There's plenty written on this subject but apart from the recipies this is what you need to know: Powdery Mildew has a life-cycle of 3-5 days. To eradicate it you need to interrupt that cycle, i.e. spraying every 3 days with whatever recipie you chose. AFAIK PM is also something that comes with fresh air, it's everywhere and can't really be avoided if the humidity is too high. So, keep spraying with the milk solution every 3 days until it's (hopefully) gone. Some strains seem to be suckers for the PM though.
