Powdery Mildew/0utdoor Grow

So lemme hear your ideas and past experiences and suggestions for this...

Powdery Mildew, outdoor grow, 2 plants @ approx 4 weeks into flower (55-60 day flowertime expected), about 90% of the leaves are affected with smallish dots (at least 3 on each "fan")...
if I were to trim all the affected leaves off I'd have one or two leaves left *lol*

so c'mon guys....whatcha got for me here?

Are you sure it's powdery mildew?
The spots you speak of, what do they look like?
If so, I had great success with baking soda. ( 1tsp per quart foliar)
Did you get the plants from the "clubs"?
Seems like all the club clones are infected.

yeah, I'm positive ...

and nope...I grew em from seed....
but the powdery mildew has always been an issue around here.....since I moved here a couple of years ago anyway....
are you in the Bay Area too?

1 tsp per quart....got it.....thanks man.....I'll try pretty much anything that won't fuck with my buds. :)

If you have access to one and it will reach the grow try a space heater at night till the morning and it will eliminate the dew from forming and reduce ambient moisture at its most damaging time.

I mist mine daily with tap water, mine is 8.o ph. the high alkaline water helps detour powder mildew.works for me when my friends have problems

for anyone interested...
I wound up making a cinnamon tea......2 tablespoons of cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in a liter of water. Let it sit for two days then strained it through a coffee filter. Next I soaked my plants with a foliar spray of the "tea" ......my garden smelled of cinnamon apple cider...it was quite comforting *lol*
The next day my lovely partner (Mr Legion) brought home a container of Companion 2-3-2 (Plant Food & Microbial Inoculant) w/Bacillus subtilis GB03 and proceeded to foliar my plants (and his) with this as well.....it's been two days since this and I've noticed a HUGE difference. The powdery mildew is fading nicely.....and I'm not seeing any NEW spots.
Ideally I'll treat the plants twice more (w/the Companion).....but we'll see....I'm trying to keep a close eye on how far along they are....don't want to treat them less than 2 weeks before harvest...

so yeah....cinnamon tea (thanks Buzzmobile), baking soda (thank you LegitUser) and Companion (thanks Legion).....heh

I also find safers garden fungicide to work quite nicely as well

I'll second that.

Glad you worked out the problem. :woohoo:

hi miss mess....

glad you got it under control.

i have used Serenade indoors with success, but is also for outside.

here's a link for future reference. OMRI organic if that matters.

peace my lady.

^^hehe sleepy beat me to it, the serenade works although it leaves a white residue...it also contains that bacillus subtilis i believe or something similar...i think the reason the bacteria work is because they produce sulfur and that takes down the mildew...god i hate PM...i got a lot of circulation in my room now though so hopefully that will help a lot...gonna get a big new fan to exhaust with in a couple weeks, that should eliminate any issues...

that's good!

Lat year I grew some tomatoes along side my ganja plants...well.... after a few dampish weeks the tommies leaves were 50% affected by PM spots...I cut away all the spotted leaves and thinly scattered lots of dolimite lime around the ground and the problem disappeared.........but this may of been due to better, drier weather with the addition Doli lime

we figured out what the culprit is...

seems our neighbor (just on the other side of our fence) likes to water her lawn AT NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Miss Mess:
here's something you can do if you're on friendly terms with your neighbor..
My hubby worked at a lawn fertilization Co.. and know grass ( of both kinds LMAO) anyways,, tell her it's not good to water her lawn at night , it can cause mold/fungus to form in the root layer,, she should run sprinklers as early in the morning as possible, for about 45-60 mins or so,, to allow for the grass to use the water when it need it ( when the suns up  ), and dry up as much as possible before night. just a lil advise to spread to the masses,,lol, and the pesky neighbor :rongue:

Captain- check "powdery Mildew end it once and for all" in first aid forum at CW(I am the author) and scroll to the last few pages. If you can get oxidate, I would get it now. I just got off the phone with at least 5 peeps whom are spraying as we speak, and they are the best of the best cali growers. The PM will come back but this will keep it at Bay. Obviously spray in the AM. Good Luck.

Once again preventative measures should be taken next year as I live in Humidity hell, and my OD have zero PM this year.
