It's a fungus and it's caused by too much humidity.

I don't have any experience with it myself, but I hear people swear by sulfur, either spray or vape and some growers spray aspirin dissolved in water on the leaves.

well humidity is just one cause, there are also other factors such as poor air ventilation and possible cold temps at any given point either during the day or night....plus humidity, and im just going thru my first battle myself and this shit sucks!

One way ive found to help besides all the bullshit sprays like, Serenade, soyanara, etc = CRAP. Dutchmasters Zone and Penetrator seems to rid it during veg. but u have to spray every 3 days for a month or 2, then hope it isnt present during flower, granted all your conditions are ideal. Thats what im hoping for this run at least, oh yeah and dont hope to rid it without working on your environment, THEN hitting them with the Z + P.

Good Luck!!

yep, humidity combined with lower temps. Get some Serenade to help get rid of the existing pm and you have to change the enviroment(temp/humidity) or you just wont be able to get rid of it. pm is first issue I ever had to deal with. It's not too hard to deal with so long as you get on it right away.

you cannot get rid of PM

It is a systemic condition, that will live inside the plant. All you can do now is control

I have not had it for a while but I have had it before, I used sm90, it is a great control product

Hey Dr Dog,
From how tenacious PM is, I would tend to agree that it is systemic. Everything I have seen though refers to it as a fungus with reproduction through what basically equate to spores. If it is indeed systemic, would that mean that any cut taken from a mother that previously showed symptoms of PM would then too be carrying PM regardless of how long ago the mother showed her PM syptoms?

Not trying to be argumenitive..just having a discussion.

Peace

Ive always understood it much more as spores that are in the environment and when the conditions are right will begin to grow. Key ... dont let the conditions get right :) Most people that have used sulphur burners swear by them and say they dont notice it on the pot if done early enough. In the past ive been able to control it with serenade , sm90 , neem, and high ph water. Havent really had any signs of it in the last cpl years (knock on wood) but I have seen my buddies doing battle. If your dilegent you should be able to keep it at bay . good luck

anybody...

show me any scientific study anywhere that says PM is a systemic infection
and not just spores that germinate when connditions are right

i'd love to see it

i've tried quite a few different things....serenade, baking soda/milk , high PH water , SM90.....none of them totally got rid of PM
i tried some greencure a few months ago and havnt seen any since ..so i'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best.

PM is some nasty shit

I need more information on this topic as well......little spots of powdery mildew on the clones are really a troubling thing, and i am searching for the best solution.....

I'm thinking maybe cleaning the carpet would help? I have a feeling lots of spores are living in the carpet......

Is sulfur vapor the best solution? Maybe add a dehumidifier?

Ya the club in oakland where I get my clones from said it's not systemic, rather environmental...might make sense as I was fine in summer, but right now temps in grow room are low 50s with humidity high 60s...and yes, i have some powdery mildew. Already scraped last grow because I was scared I wouldn't know how to battle it, and would hate to do it again for this one, but i've only seen a patch on a leaf here or there. 3rd week flowering, think I should keep going? Maybe I'm not fit for winter growing without all the fancy expensive sulphur/dehumidifier stuff. All i've got is neem and good airflow. Exer - if you get a handle on this shit let me know
Good luck to all

those 2 links mention NOTHING about PM being systemic......nothing

so again dusty, it's NOT systemic......it's purely enviornmental
