i am afraid i am a pot snob. so much so that well, if i didn't grow it, i probably won't smoke it more than once; if it doesn't look right i won't smoke it at all...

i live in fort collins so i know that there is really dank all around me, but all i ever see when i go out is disappointing...!!

so now that pot is legal in colorado, how would those of us who like to smoke the sweet elite get together? i do not wish to violate the tou of this website, and i do not encourage such violations, so i am looking for suggestions.

anyone?

I'm not in CO, but I daydream about being there all the time. I'm looking for a job in my career field there as we speak. Because of that, I think all the time about what kind of "culture" can be set into place, and different ways of going about networking and sharing and stuff. At any rate, take all of this with a grain of salt, since I currently live in a state that isn't even medical.

I would think you could form a "social club" kind of a thing. Like, membership style. Seems to me that if you aren't selling anything to each other, no laws would be broken, provided any other stipulations are taken into account (like not being near a school, that kind of thing). This way everyone can share what they got and network it up. It would basically kind of be like a farmer's market, but where there are no customers, and the farmers just trade with each other. This way people could grow one strain if they wanted to, but still have the opportunity to have some variety in their smoke.

the more i think about it, it is way too early to expect anything like a mature market. but damn there is a market for sure.

how will it look? Smoking weed in bars or coffee houses?

in the meanwhile, there could be a smoking club within a mile of the house and i wouldn't even know it.

what we really need is a generic pot information website here in Colorado.

what you really need is cannabis cafes like in Amsterdam.

That is what we need, but I don't see any way or form that the powers to be are allowing that in the newly written law. Do we actually have to go and pass another law to allow them?

Coffeeshops would be cool, but with cities and towns bowing out of the entire retail scene all over the state, I don't see the voting public taking a re-vote to allow such entities. Most folks realize how fortunate we are to be able to grow and possess in our homes without fear and aren't looking for anything more from the law at this point in time.

Marijuana Farmers Market opening in Seattle. http://cannabisfarmersmarkets.com/

Imagine the government allowing farmers to sell what they grow!

People have to remember, in order to approve state legalization of marijuana, 30% + of the voters that don't smoke marijuana, have to vote for legalization. If Cannabis Cafe's are not allowed in Amendment 64 , so be it - its all good so far.

The Cannabis Culture has progressed step by step since 2000, when Medical Marijuana was first approved.

Loving the Colorado sunshine today!

WA new laws must be different than CO law if sales are allowed (Farmer's Market).

In Colorado we could easily have a "Farmer's Market" but the pot would have to be given away because the law reads that the only way you can legally transfer an ounce or less here between people 21 and over is if no "renumeration" is offered/received. (All sales here are illegal)

It all boils down to the fact that the STATE and a few select clowns are allowed to (legally) make $$ but you and I aren't. End of story!

You hit it right on the head monsoon. The state and the big money players want to lock out the small growers so they are the only ones making money. The laws need to be changed but just like congress, the ones making the laws are also the ones making the money!

Being a pot snob in Colorado is a lonely road traveled, as most everything you come across is about as good as Milwaukee's Best.

There may be a lot of cannabis here, but 99% of it sucks balls.

If tourists knew this they may choose to stay home. Most people in America can get cannabis that is better than what is mass produced here in Colorado.

Simple solution. Grow your own! :)

It pisses me off to see peeps w med cards growing giant greehouses of cannabis only for export to the surrounding states.

If ya want to do a commercial grow, by all means, do so... but keep your dirty paws out of the clean canna jar! You only make real patients look bad. People like this is why wrong have such a difficult time w prohibition not ending.

CO has seen quite a few commercial growers fleeing the 3strikes laws of their previous states.
