Post your setup, help me plan!!!!!!

Okay, so I am in the advanced planning stages for a little project of my own now that my economic and living situation has improved/ enabled me to begin my long time dream. Basically, I'm looking to examine your grow in order to more accurately assess my situation and further plan/ price out equipment. Please keep your responses based upon flowering chambers only, as I have a fairly concrete plan for my mother chamber.

My hope is to get about 100-120 grams per plant, running 6 plant cycles every 20 days. An Indica strain of about 60 days flowering time will be used. Is it to much to hope for a QP per plant? If not, how much light/ space will I need to accomplish this in a room of 24 plants?

Much of my experience has been outdoors, so this is a slightly new game to me and I wanted to know rough estimates for the size of a setup I will need.

So the information I need is this, and you can keep it fairly basic if you want:
-your room dimensions
-how many watts/lights you are running for how many plants
-basic grow method (soil, hydro, SCROG, ect.)
-time in veg then flower
-strain used and avg. yield per plant

I know that much of this is fairly dependent on nutrients, strain selection, ect. but I want to know anyway as some information is better than nothing in the planning stages.

No, no, no, no. You got this backwards. What we need from you is:
-your room dimensions

-time you want to veg then flower
-strains desired

Once you tell us that, then we can help.

I can say I burn through 1/2 to 1 oz a month and my 250 has me buried alive in more weed than I can handle. Do you need more or less? Your lamp selection will determine the size of your garden which will determine the # of plants. Do you need stealth?

Run through these and see if anything grabs you. Then STEAL IT! Whoever you steal it from will be flattered.

I guess a more pertinent question would be this, and again I realize it depends on strain and lights.

How many square feet does a plant that would yield 4 ounces take up, assuming it's pretty heavy on the Indica side. From there I can determine the size of the room and the lights I need. Would two 600 watt HPS lamps do it?

so you want 6lbs a harvest? i think your going too fast here. wait your running 6 plants every 20days? so 12 plants per month n a half? your making it harder than it has to.

buy a simple 8 light t5 unit for your veg room and that will grow nice plants. utilize lst, scrog, pruning. i would be vegging for as long as you can to get what ur looking for. then move the selected females to your flower room that shouldnt be smaller than 600w. again lst or scrog to keep everything under the light and hopefully produce alot of top colas. mayb step up to 2 x 600w.

im guessing you havent done too many runs if you dont know how much each plant yeilds (roughly). still not sure what your shooting for but 6 lbs with 1gpw is around 2700w, 3 lbs is 1300, and 1.5 lbs is 650w and thats with 1gpw, not impossible but not likely.

i got .86 gpw off of a 4 bulb t5 unit in 97days from seed and i was amazed at my gpw. good luck i would suggest to start off slow before you think your going to make the big bucks.

I know with one plant (depending on the genetics) under my 400w a/c HPSin a 2' x 2.5' x 6' area that I can harvest 1/2lb aka 8oz. every 60-70 days.There was a grower here that got a full pound under a 400w HPS with a slightly larger footprint then my cab.

I see you want to do perpetual......set up and plan for a harvest every 2 weeks,although that is only going to work with clones.You are also wanting to do this on a large level at 1/4lb per plant.

You're going to need alot of light and a lot of room if you want to harvest a qp per plant every two weeks to 20 days.

I'd be happier to using three 600w HPS.For the three 600w HPS's I'd use a bedroom and make the grow area 9'w x 3'd.....this would give you 66.66 wpsf and 10555 lpsf.Hang the lights 6"-12" above the plants' canopy.With this setup you should be able to pull atleast 1.5-3lbs every 60 days depending on genetics and experience.Believe you me that is more than enough herb.With an ounce of dank bud here in the SE where I live running $320-$380/oz. you'd be swimming in some dollars.

Figure the average cost per qp around here is $1200-$1300....If you were to only harvest 1.5lbs and you were to sell 1lb of it you would have a 1/2lb left for your smoking (over the next 60 day period) and you will have banked $4,800 and that's only if you sold each qp at $1,200!At 3 lbs sold you would have banked $14,400....that's alot of money!!!

Don't get greedy...that's how people get caught.

Thanks but, blame IC. I just stay out of the way. Not sure how far lamp is recessed in the hood. The hood is about 2-4 inches above the canopy so the lamp is 6-10.

You really think I need the third 600? 1800 watts is probably a little more than I was aiming for, at least for now How much does that REALLY show up on the radar?

If you are worried about using 1800W...you shouldn't even be considering the numbers you were originally.

Neither. 1800W will illuminate a 36 square foot area at 50 watts per square foot, which is a 6X6 area. Assuming you want to grow 3' tall bushes (max practical height for 600w light penetration) this will work out to about 16 plants or so in that space, each yielding about 3 ounces (I basically get an ounce per foot of height.) This will take a 2-3 week veg with most indicas. So 16 3 ounce plants would give you about 48 ounces or 1368 grams (28.5 gr per ounce.) That works out to .76 grams per watt for 60 days flowering, you may get less than this but probably not more. To do a harvest every two weeks would require four flowering rooms, and a monster veg room to create that many clones and veg them. Shoot for one a month so you can keep up, but man, you gotta give up more info.

How much power (amperage) do you have AVAILABLE for just this grow?
