Immortal - believe it or not Krusty was acquired in an estate auction of clown memorabelia! I had to have it once I saw it just for laughs.
OHenry - thanks for the kind comments, these were acquired from 1964-present, and yes they do each have a "souviner" quality to us, each holds a treasured memory of happier times as well as interesting histories in their respective cultures. The collection started as I visited exotic ports of the world in the military and in college I developed a love for the ancient and midevil histories of which these were part.
I am in awe of the artistic talent in the glass presentations to date, but I guess us old world farts cling to the exotic and intrigueing!
One aquisition due in any time now is an antique railroad belt-buckle from the early chinese coolie days which depicts a beautiful wide stack engine. As you turn it over the stack unsnaps to reveal an ingenious hash pipe - the bowl of which is the stack of the engine. I'll try to get pics of that as it comes in....
