i downloaded a decibel app for my smart phone and did some noise tests on my fans. the results follow:
room baseline (no fans): 57db
14" cancan grow room exhaust through roof:

OSHA Daily Permissible Noise Level Exposure rates 8 hours @ 90db.

My S&P 125 is housed in an insulated box inside the wall, at 6"
reads 62db. But to be fair it's a small fan compared to the big
ones posted here.
