You Guys know how it is... ---> I don't tell anyone about this Garden, but I can share it with You..!!
This is my 8th year in greenhouse situations, but FIRST in Light Deprivation.
In Northern California, the Coastal Climate Creates its' own challenges..
Most people do not grow much within 5 miles of the Ocean. There are those Mavericks though, haha..
The Hoophouse has been moist on the inside ceiling almost every morning..
Put a fan in there, and a household heater for use at night. That helped. A few more nights left, a vulnerable time for Botrytis. Opening up the hoophouse in the AM, with fans blowing through. So far so good.
Day 47 .
Really filling-in this week.
Yellow and Red leaves everywhere. Nice colors.
Some purpling on most plants.
Night temps outside have been 50 Fahrenheit +/-..
Good Daytime weather for the most part, up to a week ago -
now the Marine layer moves in 50% of the nights and mornings..
Most will finish in a few days.
50% Milky trichs as of this writing.
Will take these at 20% amber.
FROM LEFT:
Lemon Skunk (pear-shaped buds) - Chiesel Clone-only - Blue Cheese - The whole show.
Strains Not Pictured, Blue Dream - Casey Jones - Grape Romulan - due to upload difficulties, will try again later.
Blue Dreams need a few extra days,
Casey Joneses (4pcs) need another 2-3 weeks, but will pack it on.
CJ's will go out in full sunlight, and hopefully stay in flower with 14 hours.
If not, will rig something next to the shed to cover them daily.
I need the Space Up-til-now dedicated to the Light Dep
for the Stretching into Flower Full-Season plants in the larger Greenhouse.
Light Dep Containers are 10g's or 20g's growbags depending on size of plant - or influencing size of plant, haha.
I Double potted 2 Casey Jones, in a 20g. That worked as if one big plant.
Due to Size limits of the hoophouse, and a desire NOT to be too crowdy in there so as to avoid Powdery Mildew,
I used smaller containers. Yes, Rootboundness, can aid PM - One thing causes another, Ya.? I gambled.
Pullin' Plastic for what feels like months... Tied to the "Gilded Cage." 745p up - 745a off.
FEEDING REGIMEN:
Local Coco/Soil/perlite/nutrients mix 50/50 - Organic
Well Water ppm @ standing = 50.. Good Water. Lucky..
Botanicare PBP - Cal-Mag - Sweet or AN Carbo Load - Liquid Karma or Nitrozyme - Hygrozyme - Pro-tekt Silica - FF Beastie Bloomz or Cha Ching.. ALL used at the Light Side of the scale.. Max ppm 800. Usually 650 +/-.
pH always tested and poured at 5.9-6.1. Use of pH up and down minimized as much as possible.
NOT Fed initially and after transplants (Nutes w/this fortified Soil burns 'em)..
After 2 weeks in new soil, then fed every other watering.. Plants tell a grower what they need...
In the last 3 weeks of Flower, FED in a sequence of 2X then plain water.
Five - seven day Final Flush (2 waterings) presently about to start. Yellow and Reddish leaves are profuse in the garden.
Had the Heinous "Broad Mites" on these mature plants when in veg. The plants are 5+ months old.
Sprayed with AVID well before Flowering was Triggered.
I see a profusion of Pistil growth, so the infestation appears to be minor, if at all.
Or the Plants outgrew the slower growth of the population after treatment.
I have seen 2 live bugs in weeks of daily scoping with a 30X Loupe. They thrive in all enviornments, except 115 degrees and up.
It is a potentially ongoing nightmare once they have entered the Garden. They are INSIDIOUSLY small.
BMs can and do hide in millions of places, even in veg. They can be found under the spine of even the smallest leaf-finger.
In Flower..? Hiding Places..? Yow. Don't get 'em OK..?
2X use of SAFER "Garden Fungicide." 25ml/g + coco-wet spreader/sticker.
pH NOT adjusted, as I want it to be between 7.0 and 8.0 to help eradicate the Fungus.
Sprayed on leaves and stems only, to control Botrytis as well as Downy and Powdery Mildew.
Finally, End in sight..
Thanks for Reading... Peace, and BESTA LUCK, as always
