Possible to remote ballast a Floralux?

Namaste everyone

The floralux mini pictured below is the perfect answer to my new stealth box operation. The reflector is the gem I need, and the ballast needs to be removed without messing up the reflector.
Can this be done? any suggestions, links, advice is appreciated!

This is the only option for my U2 Mills Pride cabinet design. I need this reflector. Heres the attic floor plan.

i had one of these once, cool little light.... the ballast doesnt get that hot... and if you can get the flange to aircool the bulb you will be fine. I would not be worried about it at all. Just get the flange too and suck the hot air right out the top. you'll like it.

Good morning!
Thank you both for your replies.

Its not about cooling the ballast. Its about the size of both ballast & reflector.
I need the reflector because of the design and perfect size. The damn ballast and it's casing sticks out too much and cant fit in the cab!

Is it possible to remote both the ballast casing without messing up the reflector?

just remove the ballast and extend the power lead to the reflector

Thank your for the link Pontiac!
I will read through it carefully.

The entire ballast section needs to be removed from the reflector, and hopefully I wont have to take a saw to that metal! Hopefully it will just unscrew, leaving a 10" long reflector, and not 5 extra inches of ballast and it's casing.
Edit: Speeling sucks in the morning.

Just read through the above link, and the light he uses is not a Floralux.

Took a long look at pictures of the Floralux Mini 150hps.
The ballast & casing appears detachable, which is exactly what I need.

Knowing if its detachable or not makes all the difference in the cab's design.

....still searching for a way to remove the ballast and it's casing without destroying the reflector, or cutting them apart!
