Possible magnesium issue

Hey all. I believe I may have a magnesium issue in veg week 5 that's what I can see but maybe other nutrients are locked out too. some of my plants are using sunshine mix some just pro mix. The ones that are using sunshine#4 may have gotten too much dolomite lime I used 2 tbsp gal. I know sunshine can be really hot. I believe that could be locking out the plants and stunting their growth along too much dolomite lime possibl..idk, the plants have a lot of purple stems and branches and curling leaves with light green/even yellowing going on and the leaves are kinda on their way to looking/feeling crispy almost also. To me that looks like magnesium deficiency. I am using general organics with b vitamins and some potassium silicate. I know they have a bit of an overwatering look going on but they did not get overwatered before they were flushed. I flushed them a bit and their runoff was 1600ppm and ph of 6.5. Any suggestions on where to go from here?I've only fed them 1/2 strength nutrients a few times. Maybe just underfed?

Look at diagram to help your plant.

FIrst off..... since its virtually impossible to have a sulfur def in your medium thats not it....

The thing that looks like it..... simply nitrogen def....

I dont know how you came up with 1600 run off..... but your plants are saying they are underfed.....

The fact you flushed would have made the problem worse since they didnt need flushing....

I dont believe that 2 T of dolomitic lime would have any effects on your plant.....

I suggest you feed at every watering....

Right now IMO the best thing you can do with your plants is feed them some nitrate N.....

1600 ppm run off means they need food?

if they are burning you are sealing their fate

flush and foliar feed nitrogen 1/6th rate ot keep them alive while they recover from being burned, feeding through the roots is not always necessary

when in doubt don't push the roots to the point of necrosis

the less burned they are the faster they will recover

you nuked them with nutrients. not much you can do at this point besides flush. make sure you are using filtered water.

Thanks guys. Because I have used the sunshine mix before like 6 months ago and the ppm runoff thewas about 3000-4000. I waited a while for it to dry out hoping that would bring the ppm down a bit(now I'm wondering how effective that is) so the ppm ended up being 1600 runoff. First off imo f*ck sunshine#4 if your like me. I feel they are probably locked out from too hot of soil. I have been spraying nutrients on the leaves although I haven't seen much difference. So I guess just wait 4-5 days until they are dried out. Now I'm not sure if I should flush only filtered/or RO water (I have both) or flush filtered/or RO until the ppm goes down in the runoff then feed say 1/2 strength nutrients after that. I hope my post is not too dislocated and it is understandable

Maine thing I'm doing different than other years is try sunshine mix #4 , add dolomite lime 2tbsp per gallon, switched to general organics, abs changed states so the water is different

What have you done recently that is different then usual?
obviously not your first grow.

its not the sunshine mix. its you. I've used it as a professional many times. Take responsibility for your own ignorance. Don't blame a company for your incompetence. You added things to the mix you fed the plant. Its you bro, its you... Learn from your mistakes and move forward. If a different soil out of the bag works for you to cover your nutrients then great, but educate yourself on how to make soil and what plants really require before you go pointing fingers. I don't represent any company, I've just grown for a long time and know that all soils are incomplete and have inconsistencies, they do their best, but its up to the end user to know what they are doing with the product and how to use it properly. If you live in colorado come by my grow sometime for a tour at the Herbal Alternative in Cortez, CO. be happy to show anyone around and share some knowledge and see it in application on a large scale. I stick to the principles taught by rev in his book TLO, combined with my experience, its really paying off.

Truck, this is a strange response.....to me. You seem to really want me to know it's me not the soil when I didn't really add anything. The excess was already in the soil...then you drop a plug for your grow on here.that was strange but maybe it's just me

Also truck, I don't really care but I'm letting you know I got promix after the sunshine and added the same stuff to different plants and they are fine. So you may have some personal things going on like we all do at times but you just like I had to learn to keep that stuff out of this site so in this case it's you truck, it's you

but you said you added the lime. you said you use nutrients. I'm just a little too seasoned of a grower to believe Sunshine mix doesn't work. I've used it throughout my entire grow career until i had enough composted soil to never need anymore sunshine. Yes its not perfect on its own. I've nuked enough plants on my own to know what i'm looking at. Which is why i got away from depending on companies. Learn to blend and mix on your own and know how to use teas that you mix and brew yourself. I still used bottle nutes but only a limited few, because it doesn't take much to through things off. Sorry for being a dick, but I just can't believe that its a company and not you making the mistake. I've made millions of mistake killed thousands of plants on accident thinking i knew what i was doing. I'm just suggesting you learn from your actions instead of pointing fingers at others. Its what is wrong with this world and is what keeps people from learning. I'm telling ya brother, get away from relying on these companies and learn how to grow on your own. There are lots of great books out there. Rev's TLO is a great start to a fun new way of growing that keeps you from having to rely in companies to grow your weed for you.

I am having trouble understanding something. I believe the medium was most likely too Hot and possibly still is. I can't flush again until they are dried to know the reading. Is too hot of a medium different from nutrient burn? Because my leaf tips are not burnt. When a medium is too hot, does the plants roots just get locked up and the plant stops progressing until its lock up is freed or how does that actually work. Because they don't look burned at all just deficient. Anyone know In a mid-level detail

Lime amounts were fine from all that I understand although I questioned it. And I said I didn't REALLY add anything I've fed 3x so far and 2x was 1/4 strength the 3rd was 1/2. I get that your a seasoned grower so what are you doing on this site because if it's to help your post wasn't helpful it was blameful and full of nothing TO ME except you wanting me to know how good you are. Good day good luck. I don't really care to continue to talk to you. No harm No foul just moving forward

I don't know maybe it's me, it has been on here before but I just don't find your posts helpful to me. I do add teas... I'm sure many others find your posts great. You just really seem to want me to look at myself and see them like you when I'm asking others for help specifically with the questions I'm asking. I'm now caught up posting with you not getting my problem fixed you see
