Portland, OR, medical marijuana clinic recommendations

Hey buds,

I'm looking for some reviews/recommendations on the clinics that help ya out in getting your card here in Portland.

I know of 2....MAMA's and THCF. MAMA's got me wondering about their attitude toward weed when I read the translation of their name, which is an acronym: Mothers Against Misuse & Abuse! Now, I realize that the name could be designed to suggest to the DEA that the organization is not promoting weed, and that may be true, but I couldn't find any reviews when I looked in google.

So, any local Portlander's, if you have any suggestions regarding clinics, please chime in.

Thanks

Sandee Burbank is one of the founders of MAMA - 1982. Long before there was a MMJ law anywhere in the country. She is very well respected by the state legislators down in Salem and before her health began to fail, she was often invited to speak on behalf of cardholders on pending legislation.

She's the real deal - the rest of the players wished they had her reputation and stature.

I originally used MAMA but since then my primary care provider signs the paperwork.

Voter Power also can provide you with this service. This is the organization that made things happen on the OMMP law in the late 1990's - Jack Herer and George Soros were the principal players.

THCF is not one I would recommend. The ass-clown who owns and runs it has a long, long history of being at the center of some level of drama. Paul Stanford - avoid at all costs. Maybe he can move to 'Cali' and help the folks down there like he has here - LMAO

Thanks fellas...

I've since visited Mama's clinic, my worries were unfounded. The one thing I am not sure about is the cost associated with the service. Does this vary between clinics, or is there a set fee that you find at all the places? Mama's charges $200, a bit steep, but probably worth it.

Interesting history about Mama, sounds like she's a good human. Paul Stanford...he's the guy I see on the TV show Cannabis Common Sense...is he really a dick, or is he just being targeted for his advocacy for an illegal substance?

I went to MMCS

it is on Sandy, and they run it like a well oiled machine.

the only difference in cost is if you are on food stamps or some other forms of financial help from the feds. At the clinics they do charge more depending or your paperwork. Mine paperwork was 7 years old so my card was $200, but I saw people with modern paperwork get it for $150.

thcf was unprofessional an actually handed out leads for procuring medicine against state law. were more expensive too.

200$ is very expensive (compared to wa $80) but the card gives more protection for wahtever the amount was.

recreational? bah...no growing for personal consumption...so medical fixes that problem...among others.

from where legal is not legal...

Went to the Aurora Clinic to get mine, and it was overall painless.

As far as collectives, my favorite spot right now is Tree House Collective. They always have fire buds and lots of fire concentrates to choose from, with low reimbursement rates compared to most PDX clubs.

I have been sick for a long time. I have a chronic degenerative disease. MAMAS made getting my card almost impossible. Just before I gave up, I called THCF. They were wonderful. Caring. But best of all, I got my MMJ card.
