I use 1 along with a co2 generator so I needed the dual hose type.If your not using co2 you need the single hose type(exhaust only the intake is in the unit). With the dual hose you put the intake through the wall to another room so as not to get all your co2 suxked out

Warehouse clubs (Sams, Costco, Direct Buy) usually have some on sale cheap at the end of the season. I have 2, one for each bloom room. One is 10,000 btu and cost 350, the other is 7,000 and I got it for just $100 as it was damaged. The only problem I have is that they pull air right from the room and blow it out heated as exhaust. This seems to make the exhausted air even stinkier. I am not using them now as the winter temps have cooled it down to the low 80's, but summer is fast approaching...

I have a 8 inch fan with carbon filter and was going to put a y connection with one side exhaust for the ac and the other sucking out the cooltubes. was looking at an everstar from homedepot for 400. it's 10,000 btu. right now i'm running 2 600 watt hps . my ballast are digital so they dont run hot. but i'm 1 month outside relocating to another location and i'm planning on adding another 4 maybe 5 lights......have 4 grand saved for a 20,000 watt generator and just bought 10 acres in nowhereville. thanks for the advice my fellow growers. I hate doing something only to realize I wasted time and money when I upgrade.

Damn I'm having trouble getting my temps over eighty for my co2 to be hella effective, depending where you are located, I'm guessing the gulf maybe craigslist.com will work they always have everything on that hella I got a motorcycle for 300 bucks once

the only thing with the portables is they aren't as powerful as window units, ie 10,000 btu's for $400 :p i got a self-evaporating model, as it uses 650watts instead of 1100w, and also water has to be emptied maybe once a week or even every other week, instead of near daily with regular units. i saw someone do a write up of them making an enclosure so they could mount a window unit inside a windowless room... this seems like a great option too. good luck!

This is what I did.....

I built a room and then framed the AC right in it.

Here is a photo of my room being built.

And here is one that I just took....there are SourBubble BX3 under the light right now. :yummy:

With a sealed room and AC and CO2 I just run my carbon scrubber once every 1 hour for 15 minutes and it blows it right back into the same room and you cant smell anything.

It seems to all work great for me.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Take care,

yea on what he said. I have that paged ripped out of Heads mag.

Pretty much they took a large rubbermaid container, flipped it sideways, and mounted the window AC in there. Then they cut a hole in the back, ran ducting, and used a bathroom vent fan to exhaust the air. Ghetto tech to the MAX! plus it will save you a couple of hundred dollars.

do you have that unit vented outside or into the basement or garage where the room is traysure?

skeletor, does your dual hose type exhaust CO2 laden air from the room? or the danky smell?
