when I got on IC a pop up came, said it was from IC, and asked as a survey if I was at home, work, or other and asked me to pick one... I closed the window but was wondering if this really yall or wut? and if it is why would u wanna know that?

weird as I have neve ever had a pop from here ..

I think you might have spyware or something ... so do a spybot search and destroy scan ..

No this was an actual pop up with this sites logo and everything.... Said IC was doing a survey and wanted to know where I was at, home work or other. I was at some folks house so I dont know, never popped up on my computer...

.....never heard of it GET MO...

sounds odd to me, we don't have this type of software on the site.....sounds like you might have some sort of malware that has managed to get into your puter......but definately not from here...

Can you provide an image capture of this? I really doubt you saw something with our logo on it. We have never ever had a popup survey on this site. I suppose some malware could identify & insert our logo in a popup, but I've never seen something do that before. Since this was not your computer, it's kinda odd and I guess you can't go back and check it out again? If you can do so, we need to know where this is coming from...

At this point I'm thinking it was just the user's firewall asking for your location. I think my Zone Alarm asks that after installation/upgrade because depending upon your answer it might ask more questions to finalize the setup. A firewall can configure itself differently depending upon whether you're in a home or office (with an office it might ask if there are other firewalls in place that it needs to deal with).

Did it ask for any other info?

Thanks!

I have experienced this several times, never with the IC image. I have seen several (Bogus) anti-virus ads pop-up. My computer was attacked by spyware. It wasn't obvious that they were fake icons. Still, you could see something just wasn't right. I think it was a type of Trojan Win/32 fake Norton anti-virus and fake Windows on my computer. Do Not click anything they ask you to.

While searching for info for certain strains I have ran into some interesting things. One is, I believe on the bc buds site, a mock up of another canna forum. It looks real, and there are "posters" talking up the scam seed site. Damn, I can't remember the names of them ...Starts with an "A" I believe and also of course the bc buds site. Anyways the phony site acts as if people are really posting and pumps the 2 scam sites, and disses ICMAG. The phoney forum goes on and on about how good their $3,000 a ten pack seeds are and how you are priveledged to be in the position to buy some...Oh, and to not tell anyone else about them on any other sites forums..

There is something called an exit_cookie that many an advertising company uses on their publishers sites. Meaning when you exit the webpage that uses the ad code(cookie) an ad will appear.

If you can get us a screen capture, we may be able determine its source and whether it's just an ad or something worse. It might help cure their paranoia to know it was something normal like a firewall warning.

But if it really said it was survey from icmag, then we all need to know where that came from...
