poly carbonate panels???

Well, I was looking at materials to build a greenhouse with and the polycarbonate panels I found state that they block out 99.9% of UV light. Thinking of going with PVC panels instead, but the PC panels are harder to see through especially if I go with the smoky colored one. Anyone have any first hand experience?

Thanks,
Rocky

insulated poly carbonate panels are great
that they block out uv is only great as many ppl with glass greenhouse often has to put some kind of blocking paste on them to achive the same and that blocks out more lumens
poly panels is way better insulated than glass and will give you several weeks both in spring and fall compared to glass ( twin panel insulated poly ones)
i was to build one myself this year but lacked the cash so i build one using heavy reinforced plastic instead but when money is better ill definitely go for a greenhouse with insulated poly carbonate panels
even the small 4 mm is still way better than glass but you can get them in thicker and even better thickness also

about pvc versus poly
i dunno as most ppl use the poly panels
they also cant see through, bocks harmful uv and has great insulation values that keeps it cooler in summer but warmer in spring and fall compared to glass

I really like the polycarbonate panels! If you want security, try the white ones for side walls, and clear ones for a roof. Plenty of light! Since they are corrugated, they offer structural support as well. Easy to drill and screw through, no chipping. Nice stuff.
