Pollination question

I'm new to breeding, having previously only cloned plants, but through luck i've gotten some herms that did not ruin my crop but rather gave me a dozen or so feminized seeds (of which all were premature, 8 were lost and only 1 of the remaining 4 germinated to later be killed by a n00b).

I spent $90 on some lowryder seeds from joint doctor and so far 3 have failed to germinate, 4 have been male, one is yet to show and 2 are yet to be germianted. Since i spent alot of money on them i decided i might as well make some seeds and see if i can grow some late plants this year.

I already fertilized some female flowers with some LR bags and the seeds have begun to grow. I also have a plant beginning to flower now and would like to pollinate it as well.

My question is.. when is the first point that you can pollinate a female? when is the best time? (for the highest number of seeds) and when is the last time a plant is able to accept pollen? Will a plant that is dying at the end of its cycle live a little longer if pollinated to make seeds? Are the very first hairs produced by a female as it shows sex able to make seeds?

Most breeders pollinate 4 weeks before the female plant will finish so it really depends on the strain. Also do not remove the seeds from their buds until the buds are completely dry, as they will continue to mature after harvest. Good luck with your breeding.

yes the very first hairs produced by a female as it shows sex able to make seeds? in fact this is the safes way to not mess up you whole grow with over seeded buds.

the down side is that you might have to use males the start to flower early and this trait will be pasted on to the offspring as well

I pollinate between weeks 3 and 4 of flowering. Betime the plants ripen so are the seeds usually.

Thank you for the quick replies.

I pollinated my second female today as well as do a bunch of reorganizing, moving in and out and scoping around, i hope all of you were as productive today as me.

i upcanned six plants, planted 11 sprouts and chopped a plant down already today, tonite i will upcan 9 more females that are in flower. LOL

anyway, as to your question, you can as stated pollinate your preflowers, also as soon as you see hairs in flower you can start to pollinate, right up till 4 to 5 weeks before expected finish. if you pollinate the lower part of the plant, you can harvest your seed free bud when its ready, and leave the lower half to ripen the seed even further. i harvest seed when i see the dark brown seed coat pokin out of the seed pod.
