Just curious, are there any vendors or seedbanks that sell pollen? I'm kinda doubting it, but you never know.

I've been thinking about this for some time also - a couple of friends have already asked me for some pollen, but I don't have enough to give away.

But being able to buy a vial of certified-strain pollen from a seedbank/breeder would be almost exciting to me as buying seeds. Granted there are viability/storage issues, but given pollen must be piss-cheap to pack, given the quantities available per plant, I'm surprised it hasn't happened before now.

I guess packages of off-white powder may look a bit suspect if found in the mail, but just get the breeders to add a 'Pollen Enclosed' disclaimer or something, surely?

It would be sweet if Gypsy Let some pollen on seedbay.

My main concern once I let to grow again in a month or two is first headstash, then keeping my seedstock..............I've lost strains before and it's shame......then last but not least by any account......breeding........the logistics would be much more simple if I could purchase good pollen.......I'd pay a pretty penny for some Deep Chunk polln or a nice SSSH studs seed!

I don't think it is...

Probably will be by the end of the evening though, if they're reading this at FDA headquarters....hi guys...:)

Plastic drug-sample vials are totally airtight, and hold around half a gram of...erm...fluffy powder. They would be perfect for shipping. Or even something you have to cut the top off to get at the pollen? It's all do-able with a bit of thought.

And DJ could finally start shipping his famed Blueberry pollen.

...and put himself out of business, of course...D'OH!!

idk about that pollen...it might be bad for their (breeders) business. but what i am very surprised about, is that you dont hear about a MALE elite clone.

Well, the above would be a good example - I've lost count of the number of new strains I've read about in the last year that were hit with DJ's Blueberry. I think also there may be Flo males cloned, as it's apparently a great male partner. My reason for storing two lots of Flo pollen at the moment...:)

it would be awsome to get pollen without growing the males...i think its a fantastic idea... i can see it now pollen bank.com....for all of your exotic plant pollen needs

definitely in agreement... i've currently got a clone only strain, that, as far as I know... is not available anywhere in seed form... i would love to get some homozygous recessive male pollen to cross it with to preserve it for future generations... i've never bred before and have limited growing experience, so, at the moment, i'm not too enthused about doing any male growing myself... so yeah, i think it's a monumental idea!

"Sorry mate, we're all out of homozygous recessive at the moment - should have some more in next week though. I can do you some heterozygous half price if you want?" :)

Also, can you imagine the Strawberry Diesel pollen auctions...?

Heh...:)

Well I've been researching and can't find anything about the legality of pollen, let's just assume though it's still illegal until proven otherwise

sorry maybe the wrong words to use, but yeah... i just want every chance at preserving the characters of this strain... it's some of the best stuff i've ever smoked
