Pollen from Male under 24 hours cfl crap or good?

I cracked some old seeds and I got two females and 2 males, they've been under cfls 24/7 since cracking and mature plants but the male started dropping pollen. Can I use this for S1? Any reason to not use a male who flowers under 24/7?

The common opinion in the chat crowd seems to be that if the plant flowered under stress then the pollen is fine, but if the plant showed a natural auto-flowering tendency than it's crap.

The seeds started mid June

Grew slowly and looked like shit by the end of june

At this point somebody told me my soil was shit (first time trying soil) mid July

after that I washed the soil off and put them into little hempies with perlite and they were looking good till I got hit by mites so they were treated twice with sinoside and started looking very good till the male went into flower and started dropping pollen. It seems like the other male is heading the same way.

I'm going to make some seeds regardless I guess because it's hard to safe addi in Japan.

think you nailed it. if the male started to flower under 24/0 then you will be passing the auto-flower trait to the next generation. unless thats something you want to breed for, i wouldnt use that pollen

These are old Chronic seeds that I bought at least 3 years ago and who knows how long the store had them before I walked in. I popped my last 6 seeds and got 4 to grow with 2 females and 2 males, the last male had more stress so it's about a week or 2 behind the other in the pic. What do you think the chances are of a commercial strain having 2 males with auto-flower traits?

you wouldnt be able to use them for S1's because you would need pollen from a female reversal for that ;)

anyway, what often happens when you keep males or females under weak lighting and in small pots for extended periods of time is that they will start to flower - some strains are more susceptible to this than others but it happens to me with some males and some of my mother plants if i dont root-prune them and re-pot periodically.

its not necessarily an auto trait - males that autoflower tend to do so pretty quickly as they grow. its sounds like yours responded to the conditions i described above.

so you could use the pollen to make seeds if you wanted. some people might think that pollen made under stress conditions is not as good (epigenetics etc) but the chances are its just fine.

always keep an eye on males that you are keeping in stasis for a long time as this can happen and make seeds with plants that you wanted for sensi

I realized it's not s1s after I said that, that's just still in my mind because I use cs pollen to make some a few months back.

Been collecting it as it drops the last few days and hitting the lower buds.
