Admin has attempted to be tolerant of political threads hoping they would not end in arguments, flames, and such disharmony...there was a time when Gypsy was in agreement to let political threads unfold here as long as they remained civil....but there is no way political threads ever take a different course other than flaming. This is because with ICM being an international site with members coming from so many backgrounds that opinions tend to get heated which in turn causes the moderators and admin much grief. Political beliefs/opinions are things members are passionate about, which causes the inevitable butting of heads and not in a civil manner.
Therefore, ICM will continue to permit a political thread, but only as it pertains to cannabis laws/legislation/legalization....not for the general topic of 'politics', so it's best to stay on topic of this site which is cannabis and not which republican or democrat is right or wrong etc etc etc etc.....The USA is soon approaching a presidential election year and opinions and tensions are already flying out of control here on the site. Therefore, in favor of keeping a harmonious site, no more political threads.
There is a forum guideline on politics:
13. Threads or posts pertaining to religious or political discussions meant to incite or flame others will be closed and/or deleted. ICMag is an international site attracting members from a multitude of religious and political backgrounds, so in favor of harmony and unity, rather than division, it is best to stay on the topic of this site....cannabis. There is a forum for law/politics as it pertains to cannabis.
This guideline was written when admin was attempting to be a bit tolerant to see how things would go....they didn't go well.
If you start a political thread and it disappears to the bin....you now know why...so best to simply not start a political thread (except as it pertains to cannabis legal issues and those go in the cannabis laws forum).
Please do not be angry with the mods for binning threads....they are upholding the directives of admin.
