A cannabis crop with an estimated street value of $18 million has been found growing on leased land in a national park in northern NSW.

Two men have been charged with cultivating about 9,000 cannabis plants on two leased rural properties within the Chaelundi National Park near Dorrigo.

Two men were seen watering the plants about midday (AEDT) on Wednesday, police said.

"A search warrant was conducted on the property with the two men, aged 61 and 37, arrested and taken to Coffs Harbour police station," police said in a statement.

"Police allegedly located in excess of 9,000 cannabis plants with an estimated potential street value of $18 million."

Two men have been charged with cultivating cannabis greater than a commercial quantity and after a brief court appearance were refused bail to next face Coffs Harbour Local Court on March 9.

Police say they raided two properties as a result of the men's arrests and seized cash and financial documents.

The initial report I read said an "estimated potential" value, but when talking plants wtf does that mean? If Leo busts someone for a 3 week old plant that could have the potential of growing 6 feet tall and harvesting a pound, so is it reported to have a potential value of $2k?

18,000,000$ / 9,000 = 2,000$ a plant. How fucking big were those plants??

Apparently, very, very tiny. $100 an oz is a lowball starting point. that's $1600 a lb. Hard to imagine an outdoor plant doing less than a couple of keys. 4.4x1600=$7,040 a plant. Crop sounds grossly underestimated to me.

LOL, that's if everything comes in ok. No mold, no deer, no pests, sufficient hydration, etc, etc.

BTW, if you were 67 years old do you know how difficult it would be to water 4500 outdoor plants in the hot Australian sun.

I'm not even sure Brown Dirt (Warrior) could handle that (OK, Brown Dirt would be the ONE exception who could handle that ;) ).

That's a LOT of schlepping water, irrigation lines and fert PLUS trimming, drying and then the sale.

Now Freeza boy I have always given a lot of time to your posts.
Unless you were being Sarki And i didnt get it you are wrong.
Both in prices and estimation. $7K a plant then my Dad would put a few around the edges. they are lucky to get an oz of really decent grade. they were only leafy stage and waist high so nothing of any real value at all. Its a huge scam this Potential worth. Another way of stretching the value to get more funding but with 9000 plants some people are just over the top morons.

I agree that over 4 pounds per plant is too high...maybe not for Tom Hill...but for growing 9000...yeah, prolly not that high--
I hand water 400...and that takes about 3 hours...they had to have irrigation--
Betcher ass they had the troops there for trimming tho--:smokeit:
