i just read in the paper that some folks were charged with possession of police scanners...i thought they were legal as long as they were in the home..these people were also charged with pot and meth..

Also the frequencies are assigned by the FCC, they can't just change them at will
How u know this man, u got 4 posts and there all on police frequencies. u a cop?
If your local pd is using digital encrypted radios, which many are - it's unscannable. If they are "in the clear" or unencrypted, I'd bet a dollar to a donut that most/all sensitive drug investigation comm's are done via cell phones.
