Polar Bears almost extinct by 2050 ...sad

man i heard and read about that today.

didn't surprise me, but made me pretty sad.

I like animals more than most people, and polar bears are on top of my list next to wolverines.

polar bears dont ever bother people, and dont even look at us as prey...nor do any bears. all they want is to live and be be left alone....and they are so majestic.

I know it's enviromental crap thats gonna be their demise, but we are to blame I guess.

a polar bear in a zoo is a VERY sad sight to me...any animal 4 that matter in a zoo ...i hope we dont lose polar bears, but im sure we will.

Two-thirds of the world's polar bears will be killed off by 2050 — and the entire population gone from Alaska, scientists projected Friday.

LAST HOPE: Only in the northern Canadian Arctic islands and the west coast of Greenland are polar bears expected to survive through the end of the century.

THIN ICE: Scientists say 84 percent of the scientific variables affecting polar bears' fate was tied to changes in sea ice.

Living in Canada I have been hearing about this for a while. I really hate to see any animal in a zoo. It is not right. But I thought I would share a polar bear pic with you

"Aww how cute" Lol, They're some of the most aggressive bears in the world. It's sad yeah, I'm more worried about the Elephants myself they're the most amazing animals you'll ever meet.

It is not that they are aggressive, look where they live, they are top of the food chain there, they are no different than humans really.
I am not favoring one animal over another. We need to stop warming the earth, polluting the seas, poisoning the earth, cutting down our trees, and most of all stop building shit in new areas when we have areas that are falling apart!

I have heard that Grizzly bears are believed to be mating with Polar Bears in some limited cases now in the wild.

things will work out fine, look the grizzlies and polar bears are already adapting and producing a new, more adapted animal the "grolar bear" . . . I love animals but I can seperate the sympathy for animals with the larger issue of global climate change. Showing pictures of cute fuzzy animals is probably the best way to defuse intelligent arguments about climate change. Get used to it, or live on another planet because the climates change and that is that. So many cute, fuzzy animals in the past have gone extinct and many cute, fuzzy animals are yet to inhabit the earth.

It is the height of arrogance to thing that we are massively influencing global climate change. Kind of like pissing in the french quarter, claiming that we made hurricane katrina worse!

Just wait until there are pictures of fuzzy baby Grolar Bears, and then we might have some propaganda to induce climate change! how would you like to suck on them apples?

I don't understand the post above me..

The climate is changing, its fact. This has been the worst year for farmers in my area. It has been extremely hot and dry, in an area that normally gets 3-4 inches of rainfall every month.

We should have sympathy for our selves, or at least our children. When animals go extinct unnaturally, it affects us. Being on the top of the food chain means we rely on many other animals for our own survival. Polars aren't directly connected to most of us, but their extinction can affect populations of other organisms. Everything that happens on this Earth affects all of us.

you know why no one cares and no one knows? cause its not coming out of lindsey lohans mouth (*generic slut joke*). people care more about how much whip cream their mocha frappalatte has than about the the world or how we as a species affect it.

They also said that by 2050 that the world will mostly be the same color. I think we all know better than that, haha.

This polar bear thing is probably true though

do parrots care about polar bears?

i mean,i care, but i don't see why i should.....we as animals,in theory, should only care about us... sure were "smarter" then the averge bear... but,is that a good thing, should we help, should,we care....are we f.u.c.king stuff up,by saveing animals, arent we,suppressing the natural order of things....something is gonna take the polar bear's place eventully

i know,WE f.u.c.ked up "our" enviorerment and WE are killing animals off, but, how do you know whats dieing from what,if we save the wrong animal, are we not, hindering the further evolotion of the planet....

killa-bud Sure we should care. If a keystone species went extinct, the entire ecosystem that relied on it would collapse. Our survival is dependent on other organisms, not only for food, but other things as well.
