PO box possibly compromised...

I got a PO box for the sole purpose of having seeds sent to it a few months back. First few orders came through fine, no troubles. I receive a bunch of junk mail to my box, usually about 3-5 pieces of it per week. However, about two months ago I ordered some seeds and they never showed up. No confiscation notice or anything, I've already been in contact with SB staff and they said everything is good on their end, so I'm thinking it's confiscated..

Now here's the problem: at the same time that my seeds never arrived, all my junk mail stopped coming too. Haven't had one piece of mail in my box since. Has anyone ever experienced this before? it's just weird... seems kinda odd to me. could it be possible that they are holding my mail? I'm kind of afraid to ask anyone at the counter if my mail is being held. any advice would be greatly appreciated

That's sketchy as hell man. If I were you, I'd invest in a new po box in someone else's name... all signs point to interception/diversion of your mail. Look @ it this way, worst case scenario, you jumped the gun a lil.. Better safe than sorry I would think!

thanks for the reply. I think I will end up just getting a friend to let me use their address, just to be safe. I'm not too worried about it, I don't have anything growing atm. I decided I'm going to try mailing myself something and see if it gets through safely and on time

id phrase the question like this...

Dude. I don't want to be a j/o, but it just sounds sketchy. If there's any cool way you can think of to make a clean break from that PO BOX...I'd make it happen.

I can't help but think that if it IS in fact related to them grabbing some beans....and they didn't just send you a "CUSTOMS COURTESY LETTER" informing you of such....that they (whoever "they" are), are holding your stuff until you in fact ASK FOR IT and present IDENTIFICATION. This guarantees it is in fact YOU, whom the package is presumably addressed to, and picking it up...accepting the package and walking away with it....means you know what it is (even though we know it's plausible you may not know), you want it (even though you might not even know what it is), and that you're guilty of whatever crap they think you're guilty of.

Contact a lawyer YOU TRUST FIRST. Get ready to drop at least money for an initial conversation. $150-$500 / hr. Make sure it's a lawyer that deals with criminal cases of the type you're concerned with...not some hometown lawyer that deals with divorces and wills.
Tell the lawyer what you're concerned about in very broad strokes. That lawyer is like a priest...he or she cannot tell anyone anything about what you disclose. It's like the cones of silence on "GET SMART"......nothing said leaves the room.
I would insist on a face to face meeting and not speak on any phones. At the very least do not use your cell phone, home phone or any phone that's physically related to you.
Get the advice of the lawyer.
Follow the advice of that lawyer.

I know this sounds paranoid, overzealous and possibly schizophrenic. However, I've seen problems happen for people rapidly and without warning. We're not in other countries where this crap is tolerated widely. There is no "stealth" way of sending packages 100% foolproof. I don't care what someone tells you. Unless they're bringing it in an armored car personally to your doorstep..there are risks.
They can tap your phone without much cause, and they can monitor it for months. They can see your text messages, IMs, emails, etc. easily without the same warrants because they don't necessarily apply to these gadgets in the same manner it does for phones.
A lawyer is the last person I think you want to see, but is the only person that can give you a breakdown of the possibilities.....protect you from doing something stupid and creating more problems....or can in fact dissolve the whole issue by intervening on your behalf and possibly closing the PO box, retrieving your mail, etc. You can in fact give him/her power of attorney to do so. I'm just riffing here...there must be some lawyer magic they can work.

Better yet: contact NORML. Tell someone there what you just said on the forums. Tell them you want to speak to someone knowledgeable for legal advice. See if NORML will give you the name of a lawyer that is barred in your state. Let them work this out.

If it sounds heavy handed, it's not. You're just being cavalier. There's no price you can put on security and peace of mind. And honestly, it's what I'd do without thinking twice.

Some post box offices dont let any junk mail that doesn't have your name on it get in your box. the made me sign a paper recently telling me my rights of my po box them all my junk mail with out my name stooped. I dont have seeds sent to this box/ so this could of happen to you. I would check back with gypsy and see if the get the seeds. sent back

La resistance: you asked for advice. I gave you my two cents, with the precautionary note that it was admittedly paranoid. I'd rather hope for the best and expect the worst...than be caught with my pants down.

With my suggestion, you spend the equivalent of a nice batch of beans and guarantee peace of mind. You don't think the lawyers at NORML have ever encountered this? If my suggestion is B.S., they'll more than likely turn you away and tell you to stop being paranoid.

If you wear purple wrecks purported hat, you may or may not have an issue on your hands. I'm not going to start a pissing contest here. I wish you the best. Not going to check this forum out again because it's pointless to sit an argue with people about what may or may not be occurring.

thanks for all the advice everyone. I think I'll wait a couple days and see if the letter I sent gets there intact. Tomorrow I'm going to clean everything questionable out of my house just in case. The place where the box is at is in a really open spot and there's no way they could have it staked out without me at least being suspicious, so I'm not too concerned about going up to the counter and asking where my mail is. I think the worst case scenario is they ask me to wait for an unreasonable amount of time and I just walk out and disappear into the masses.


do they generally ask for ID when you go to pick up packages at the counter? hm... that could be a problem.

I know I said I wouldn't be checking back here. But some of the inspiration for my paranoia was furnished by another thread here, so in the interest of education and answering your initial question, I felt obligated to post it here for your review.

I'll reiterate what I said before, even though some people may consider it ridiculous: security is paramount.

The thread is about individuals purchasing seeds from Europe...getting them confiscated and then leading to all kinds of crap. I didn't make it up.

I'm glad to see however that you don't seem to have freaked out, keep your head about you and weigh your options.

If you're only dealing with seeds, and you're not growing or have some huge stash....then you're about as good as you can get.

If you have a paper trail a mile long and lots of things growing...then I suggest a quick clean-up.

Since the assumption is that people on these forums buy seeds, grow and have huge stashes....I naturally jumped to the omega level of what could potentially be your biggest issues.

I know my message was out of control, it could have been less inflammatory.

Hopefully facts will just speak for themselves.

Strainwhore: can you elaborate on the "green tape". Does that mean the package comes "opened" with green tape to reseal it. Hate to sound dense, but curious about your post.

La resistance: glad to hear that things are apparently working out. Glad you understand I wasn't trying to piss on your parade. The posts were out of genuine concern (even though I don't know you from Adam...). I don't like seeing anyone get burned for something that SHOULD be legal and in fact is in other countries. The U.S. may be cool with alot of stuff, but it sure sucks with weed....and considering we've been living in a practically totalitarian society since Bush came to power....I'm especially sketched out. Looks like McCain and Clinton will be practically as bad.

How can Hillary be such a freaking twat about drug policies when her own husband Bill is cool with it? Bill should step up and make her hit the flesh bong to cool her out! I think he's been banging too many other chicks, so it's like a crusade for her to make everyone else chapped.
