Look, I'm new to this just like the rest of you. I see people with 100+ posts asking stupid ass questions about what size filter they need. Not only are you pissing me off, but you are pissing off the people who have important information to share, making them not want to share it. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT GO INTO ADVANCED THREADS JUST TO ASK A SIMPLE QUESTION THAT HAS FUCK-ALL TO DO WITH THE OP. PLEASE STOP IT. Its like being in class with people who didn't do the reading assignment from last night, and are holding up everyone else's learning with questions about shit you should already know. Before you come in here asking a bunch of questions about basic shit, use the search function. Explore the threads under the tabs relating to what you are doing. If you are growing in soil, read the soil stickies. If in hydro, read the hydro thread. Read the cloning sticky, the nutrient stickies, read all the goddamn stickies. Don't come in here asking people with 30k + grows dumb shit about the best type of bulb to use in your one 600w lamp. Figure that shit out like everyone else. READ. READING IS FUNDAMENTAL, or it at least used to be when I was growing up.

Agreed, I thought that was what this was for...... a forum for those who don't know to ask the ones that do.... if I wanted to read I'd go to a fucking library!!

Now I'm not saying this thread doesn't have a place...it does...and its been done COUNTLESS times in the six or seven years I've been here...and it doesn't do much good...but maybe meet in the middle and people new to the sight agree that for every two questions they have they agree to put effort into finding the info on one before starting a new thread on it...and if you start a new thread in a section that already has the same question in a thread title on the same page...you have to post a video of you spanking yourself..and not the fun kind!

I am a new grower and new to ICMag and I was truly worried about this original thread post because I thought that this forum was here for Newbies like me to learn from the pro's like you. Were all here to grow (lol) together! Anyway thanks for the reassurance it is greatly appreciated!

You have a point....... Hey maybe we should request a forum for Newbies to specifically ask questions to the pros this way no one has to see the threads unless they want to by entering the thread....... and yeah I know there is the new growers forum but that is kinda just for newbies to chat amongst themselves..... there should be a thread for that specific purpose.... what do ya think?

Just above the newest posts in the forum subcategories.
ie click new growers at the top of this page. You will be taken to the new growers forum. Just above the first few posts are the stickies for that forum

Thanks TribalSeeds for pointing out where the stickies are but Benjamin Check mentioned several different stickies and I only see two. I see one for a glossery and one on sexing your plant.

Yeah I'm new here too, no sweat though. this is where your suppose to ask questions that's why it's here. However, the stickys are at the top of every forum entrance. So if you go to Soil grows the sticky for that forum are the first few entries and you can tell them out from the others because they say sticky: next to them. Every forum pretty much has em and you can search using the search bar at the top middle of the page to search old threads and see old stickys. Still, a Newbie shouldn't have to go through all that BS if you know what I mean to find a simple answer when surfin the New Growers category. Anyway......welcome to ICMag.

So far I have found others very helpful and eager to help me have success. I hope it continues to stay that way cause at first I was very hesitant to even post anything and people shouldnt feel that way and told read read read before asking for help. Sometimes things dont go according to plan and you gotta figure out whats going on.

KamoeKazee glad I can help. Yeah I have found everyone here so far to be excellent with advice and tips. Most of the seniors are very eager to help new comers....at least that's been my experience. Don't be afraid to post or ask questions even if you think it is stupid because you never know what can be the difference between success and failure. Good Luck with your first grow!

It's tough being new dude.... act like you didn't ask some stupid arse questions your 1st and 2nd grows. I read 2 books and spent months on these forums before popping my first seeds and I still find myself asking questions which I'm sure seem elementary to the OG's on here. I agree to an extent that people should try their best to do some hw, I found that books did help me build a strong foundation to come on here and start posting in threads, and the "how much will I yield from X strain with Y light" does get a little old... but like any other art or trade its up to the experienced people to pass on that knowledge. Getting into growing is an exciting thing for new guys, so if their thread annoys you that much just read something else and ignore it..... speaking of a useless thread, oh wait you made the dumbest one on the whole damn page!

If you're sick of reading questions don't open the thread and read them(ESPECIALLY IN THE NEWBIE FORUM!), it is as simple as that. People like you that flame all the newbies ruin the fun for everyone. We were all newbies at one time or another, and when you get all agro and start talking down to people it's gonna stop them from asking questions and learning!!


I myself dont mind answering questions no matter how stupid they may seem, it makes me feel great knowing i have just empowered someone with knowledge they will hold on to for life about growing fine herb.
