Please Help my Clones

I have these clones a buddy blessed me with. Mostly sativas...They have been in the cloner for 1wk today and they are not showing any bumps. I have run many sets in my Botanicare Power (Aero) Cloner and I usually have bumps by day 4-5 and roots by day 7.

I had anticipated taking cuts so I had my cloner running for a few days with Tap water (100ppm @7.1) and then Ph-ed down to 5.8 before adding the clones last Sat. The mothers were wilted and my time was limited.

I just changed the water last night(just tap, didnt ph water) and some of the leafs are pointing for light today. Stems are hard. No damping off.
The rez temps are around 72-75F..
Room temp is around 70F
Light is 2ft T5 with 1 blue bulb in, hung about 18in away.

They started looking funny about 3 days ago.

Pics from today

This plant is a male...the doner plant kind of had the same curl.

A couple cuttings of mine look similar now, I took them out of bubbler and stuck them in peat pots and they don't seem to like the shift.

Well last night before going to bed I thought I seen some bumps and got excited. Well today I woke up to see this.

WTF?

Brown algae. Odds are all your clones have it and youll have to trash them. Sorry. Check the sticky about the strange slime if you want to try to treat them.

Thought Id elaborate a little more. Since the algae is present it is choking off the clones ability to take up water and grow roots so the clones are dying. Thats why they look so bad.

Well..I just checked them and majority have bumps, and a few of them have root. I still dont understand what the "algae" is about. I'm not going to worry about it as long as the clones dont wilt or get soft. It looks like the clones are ok right now...I will keep this updated.

I told you where to find the info on brown algae. If you dont want to listen to the answer, why bother asking the question? You have a brown algae issue and your clones look like shit because they are dying. They won't root and even if they do get some tiny little roots through the slime, the slime will still kill them, not to mention it will infect your system if you grow hydro. Either treat the brown algae or ditch them and start over.

This is exactly right. Get in there and read that sticky above. The slime you have in your cloner is why I ditched every single EZ cloner I ever had. I always got slimed.

I cant think of a way to say this without sounding like a dick..but what makes the both of you think I DIDNT read that STICKY..Uhh I did post in it..that just might have been after reading the thread....

So now, not in a smart ass tone. I said I was not goning to worry about it because it is what it is...I have my answer, sorry I didnt run out and do what everyone else is doing..I see roots (they sure look like they are) and as long as they are established enough they will go into soil.

I CAN NOT just trash..So I need to do any/everything I can to save them. I'm not going to worry about ordering something that will not be here in time, or going crazy with bleach just to harm my clones some more.

So in short, thanks for pointing me over to the Sticky, I NOW know what it is, but dont be upset if it looks like I'm NOT following the leader, I have a habit of that.

Nothing stated above has any intent to offend.

Soil will work if you get roots on them cuts. Then I would load up the soil with beneficials and I could see a successful grow. Good luck.

Every time I have had slime on my cuts like the pic you showed I lost them because that crap choked them out and they fell over. Just my experience.

If you did read the sticky then you would know that your clones are f*cked unless you do something about it. The algae is not going to just go away if you ignore it. It will get worse and worse. Choose to ignore the solutions if you wish but it's only hurting your clones more and more.

Well I went out, bought a new bucket, and some H202..Cleaned the hell out of the cloner. Man I thought I cleaned it good before, but I guess not enough. When I put the air stones in the H202 it bubbled like crazy, so I think that was prob part of the problem. I scrubbed the cloner with a soft brush and a heavy H202 mix. Everything was bubbling. I also prayed the clones with a 30% H202 mix while I was cleaning the cloner. Refilled with tap water, and a small amount (1oz) of EA/EN Mycro's.

This may not fix my problem, but at least there will be documentation of trial and error for me or even the next person.

Do you clean out the cloner with Bleach after each batch? I've got a friend that insists his plants turn out BETTER because he doesn't clean it. I follow the instructions religiously and dump a cup of bleach in after each run. Makes everything come out spik and span! Definitely puts the kibosh on algae and other nasties.
The H202 I've seen suggested by people from time to time. Not sure how it works out.

Just H2O won't resolve an algae issue once it's got a good foothold. Cleaning the cloner won't do squat either if the algae is still on the clones themselves. It doesnt even have to be visable. H2O will slow it down a little but thats it. The roots that do grow will be so brittle they can't be transplanted without breaking off. I run bleach thru my hydro systems too and it cleans everything up real nice. I admire icky's determination to keep his clones but it's going to be an exercise in futility. I guess sometimes you gotta learn the hard way to learn the right way.

I forgot to make mention that I took 3 clones from a healthy mother today and put them in just to see what happens...if algae is still present they should get infected as well right?

Should I re-cut the clones? to remove the actual algae growth.

I will post updated pics tomorrow.

WHat your going to have to do is this, your going to have to rinse out the tub very good with some water and h202 solution and your going to have to cut off the infected parts, your water is either too warm or your having light reach it....

and then you start again.

This time I would add something to your mixture and keep the water temps down to about 70F no hotter no warmer and make absolutly sure it's light proof.
Most likely you got it from light reaching in along with water temps possible a little too warm, but mostly the light.
Did you have any nutrients in there?

I had both, light leaks form the Neoprenes not reforming, so the little crack form where the previous clone was, allowed light to get it. I also have temps that keep reaching 78F. I have been working on it daily. I changed the water added the EA/EN and sprayed the bottom of the cuts with 30% H202, now 2 days later I have roots growing. There is no visible sign of algae anymore, not even on the cut end where it was growing... I WIN Mr. Algae, YAY....now lets see if the clones can make it.
