Please help me ID my plant!

Hi guys,

I recently found some seeds I'd tucked away in a safe place, so thought I'd plant and see what happened...

So, plant germinated fine, but now that it's grown a bit it doesn't look like anything I recognise, hopefully the wealth of knowledge contained within this site can help!

I've uploaded a few pictures...

Any help much appreciated! I'm really hoping i haven't just found a pot of random seeds from the garden!

Thanks in advance,

The Frog

Soil was from a bag, kept in a shed away from garden, and started indoors.

I do have a lot of strawberry plants, but always grow from runners from old plants. There shouldn't have been any cross contamination between these and the soil

well this is weird, because yes the photos you posted do look like cannabis seeds, and strawberry seeds look nothing like them (theres about 200 of them on the external membrane of each strawberry, obviously a lot different to cannabis seed!)

Soil bag was seed starter and new. Started on windowsill in propegator.

Would also be a different strawberry variety from anything I've ever grown

here is whole page of strawberry leaves...but i don't see the slot in them...looks pretty close to strawberry...DJXX

Here's a picture of my strawberry plants. Very different leaf structure, and all the same as grown from runners. Large overlapping leaves, uniform in shape, no gaps

What are the odds of getting a single strawberry plant from a new bag of seed starting compost, in the small amount used in the propegator, that's a different variety to my others...

At this rate I'm off to buy a lottery ticket...!

there's tons of strawberry plants popping up in my yard.. far from the cultivated ones I grow.

the seeds are tiny so they will travel quite a bit.. I still stand by my initial answer.

Could well be correct. It would had to have been in the compost bag when purchased, or found its way into the house and under the lid of the propegator. I've grown a lot of other stuff using the compost since then and no sign of any more of these...

If it is strawberry at least I'll have more to satisfy my munchies with!:thank you:

very interesting. so, assuming it is a strawberry how long until it starts to flower/show signs that yes its a strawberry?

Good question. It may not flower this season as it's pretty late on now. If it is strawberry it's likely to kick out a runner before it flowers now.

I think!
