Please help, I've got THE CLAW!

Hey folks,
So I have a Mountain Jam clone going in hydro, 3rd week of flowering. Just this weekend I was nailed with some kind of food poisoning and was in no condition to manage the grow. When I checked her out yesterday, she was almost dry (about 2" of solution in the bucket), and shes exhibiting the claw (rams horn or whatever). I rinsed out the bucket and mixed new solution (gen hydro micro, bloom, and kool bloom). Well this morning the problem looks even worse. Should I flush it for a while? I'll post a pic when I get the chance. Thanks for any advice.

too much nitrogen is the usual cause of the claw aka rams horn. flush for a while, but know that the affected leaves may never recover.

well, here's a pic. I must say I'm really bummed at my lack of attention on this grow. Being really sick for a few days didn't help matters. :bashhead: Could I have gotten too much nitrogen from the GH Micro? I'm supposing that the solution concentrated during my absence, causing the over-fert problem. I'm flushing for the next few days, and will begin again with the ferts 1/2 strength. I also moved the light up, I think the stretch put her a little close.

GH Micro DOES have N in it but should not have enough to cause issues in plants that can take a normal amount of N, under normal conditions. But letting the water level get super low like that, it's definitely possible.
You didn't use superthrive too, did ya?

No Superthrive. I've read all kinds of bad stuff about it and decided to steer clear. I just hope I didn't completely F*&k up! It looked soo good until now. She has perked up a bit since I flushed her though.

Yep under watering or starving the plant of water can definately cause the claw (it's happened to me before when i miss-timed my watering schedule by 24-36 hours), if it is due to the under watering the plant will gradually improve day by day week by week, you may find that some leaves won't fully straighten back out but the majority of them will

peace
